Intimate, Modern Black & White Wedding

Our absolutely stunning bride Carly, married her now Husband, Cheyne in March this year. It is such a beautiful, relaxed and intimate wedding. Held at Church364, a boutique wedding venue in Victoria, Australia – full of old world charm but with modern & contemporary aesthetics.

From the bride…
I was attracted to the beautiful stylish sequined gown in the front window of Karen Willis Holmes, which just screamed modern glamour. I had a feeling I may find my wedding dress in that store. Honestly, I didn’t really know wedding designers before I started looking on High Street, Armadale. That became a crash course!
I only tried on the one gown, the Prea Gown and it was love at first sight. I loved the long sweeping train at the back – it made a statement!
My accessories were a pair of statement Samantha Wills earrings that had a touch of turquoise, my something blue. Something old was my late Nanna’s tennis bracelet and something borrowed was a girlfriend’s diamante hairpiece.

Church364 was the last venue to look at on our list. Every other location did not have the intimacy factor, which is what we wanted in a venue. We knew from the minute we saw it – this was the venue!
The theme was relaxed, modern and classic. I tried to keep these three elements in mind when looking at all elements of the wedding. The color scheme was white, black and grey with the slightest pop of turquoise here and there. The hardest part was keeping styling to a minimum.
Generally I drew inspiration/ideas from wedding blogs and Pinterest but in the end I had to scale back and trust my instinct that less was more. Too many styling ideas became fussy. I stuck to minimal but modern striking elements.
I did not want to detract from the beauty of the venue itself. The dining room used to be an old outside courtyard with a brick floor. To keep with that outside-inside feel, the focus was on tall floral centerpieces of lilies and tall gyma leaves and classic bentwood chairs. The venue h

Rustic Ranch Wedding in Pink and White

Natasha and Gordon were married next to a river among gorgeous wildflowers at a ranch in Colorado. The bride kept her cool under her paper umbrella and her bridesmaids were dressed in various shades of pastels and lace. The bride and groom wrote personal vows to each other in journals as a nod to their shared journal that Gordon proposed in.

Natasha is a teacher and Gordon is a State Patrol officer, and their cake matched their work lives. They incorporated yard games and couches, and had their friends and family make various types of cupcakes for dessert. It was pure romance for these two, surrounded by people that loved them and amazing mountain views.

Whimsical Watercolor Save the Dates

This whimsical save the date announcement was inspired by vintage florals and summer romance. The modern calligraphy save the date was hand lettered with vibrant pink, orange and purple watercolor, for a carefree feel. The same watercolors were used to create bold, matching envelope liners. Kraft paper envelopes, white ink and vintage stamps add contrast, completing the look. The end result is simply stunning.
