A 5-star hotel destination wedding at Ballyfin Demesne in Ireland

Ballyfin wedding

The meet-cute that led to Nick and Lisa’s own wedding actually began at another wedding, where Nick was a groomsman and Lisa a guest. The couple ultimately got engaged in their kitchen with a romantic dinner cooked by Nick and prepared for when Lisa arrived home from a 72-hour shift! Nick and Lisa’s wedding was a testimony to the fact that with a village, the perfect wedding day is possible. The couple knew they were going to need help as they both work in very busy industries. That's where Tara Fay of Tara Fay Events stepped in and became an integral part of every step of the couple’s planning process. Keep scrolling to see how this day at Ballyfin Demesne came together with Tara's help, all captured on camera by  Brosnan Photographic.

A venue with careful attention to detail

Ballyfin Demesne was one of a short list of local Irish venues the couple had considered, but nothing quite met the stunning extravagance of this 5-star hotel. The couple fell for the location's careful attention to detail and accommodating size.

The bride wore a delicate number by Zuhair Murad for the ceremony and reception. Hair by Aidan Darcy and makeup by Sue Brophy completed the breathtaking look. Lisa was joined by bridesmaids in flowing silky numbers in deep emerald green from Dresscode, while the groom stuck with one of his favorite brands and opted for a Tom Ford tux.

Designing your ceremony entryway

One of the most important details not to forget when hosting your ceremony is to create an entryway that greets guests and sets the stage for what to expect when they walk through the door.  Nick and Lisa chose two large white and green arrangements atop white pedestals by Frog Prince that created a timelessly regal entrance.

Incorporating elements of the venue

The couple wanted the theme to be fun and energetic, with tastes of the venue present throughout the ceremony, and Tara made sure to deliver. With a BMW Z8 to drive away in, live music, mouthwatering sausage rolls, and fireworks to end the night with some sparkle, the couple left with memories that will last a lifetime.

After-the-fact advice

The greatest advice Nick and Lisa could give to couples planning their own wedding is to hire a planner - something they wish they had done earlier on in the planning process. Having someone to lessen the stress of getting to their big day made a world of difference in being able to enjoy every moment of it.
