Foodie Wedding At A Grand English Estate

Victoria Adam s US meets UK mixed faith wedding with a Supper Club vibe

For their supper club-themed wedding, these two foodies went all out. They wanted to give their guests an immersive experience, one they would never forget. It's super important to remember that for your guests, a destination wedding should also be a vacation. They're taking time off work and traveling to a location that maybe they've never been. So, make sure that you help curate the experience for them as much as possible. Give them recommendations on what to see and do locally and treat them to an insanely delicious meal on the day of, like this couple did.

The Bijou Studio worked with this couple to make their foodie dreams come true! From finding just the right caterer to having custom cheese paintings made for each of the tables. The stunning Hamswell House was the perfect backdrop for this intimate gathering and provided just the right ambiance. Katherine Bly Flowers created these incredible floral arrangements from the bride's bouquet to the asymmetrical ceremony arch. They also made sure that there were little accents of greenery everywhere you looked. Samuel Docker took these moody high-contrast photos, and we're loving the old-world vibe! Keep reading to hear more from Alexandra Merri of  The Bijou Studio about this lovely day and make sure to check out the full gallery.

SERIOUS FOODIES

Victoria and Adam, like so many couples, had to change their wedding plans due to the global pandemic. The trials and tribulations of their original venue closing and guest list reduction due to restrictions only made their wish to have the most personal of days that much stronger. Being Americans who came to London for work, they are passionate about exploring wherever they are in the world and discovering the best dining experiences. We wanted to create a supper club feel to the wedding, taking guests on a journey through the flavors and tastes of Italy whilst also inviting them to explore a different part of England than London. We worked with Italian Supper Club on a bespoke menu to wow guests including an Amari trolley with dessert and post-dinner cocktails such as a negroni sbagliato. The food-lovers theme continued with tables named after the couple's favorite cheeses!

A TWIST ON TRADITION

The celebrations began at a quintessential English country church in Bath where the Vicar incorporated elements of Adam's Jewish faith into the service, like the smashing of the glass. Guests then traveled to the picturesque Hamswell House. Despite it being October, there was a feeling of Amalfi heat in the air and guests enjoyed the glorious gardens with hot air balloons flying overhead. A big band was the surprise of the evening, keeping guests dancing until dawn, teaching jive steps, and doing big band interpretations of contemporary songs. For guests resting their feet, we set up a lounge with card games and sweet treats.

TIPS FROM THE PRO

1. If you are passionate about something don't be afraid to make that the focus of your wedding.

2. Remember this is a big day for your parents too, there may be something they would love to do for or with you such as read a poem or dance with you to a certain song.

3. With guests traveling from afar, try to make the logistics as easy as possible for them and give them advice on things to do and places to visit during their trip
