Florals and a fruit theme made this wedding “extra” in the best way

This editorial wedding shoot coordinated by Modernly Events and captured by Erin Schmidt Photography was a kaleidoscope of color, creativity, and contemporary romance — designed to reimagine what a wedding can look like when maximalism meets modern minimalism. Inspired by abstract floral art, playful textures, and fearless color combinations, the shoot celebrated the beauty of breaking tradition.

Featured designer: Chosen by Kyha

The bride opted for a stunningly minimalistic Chosen by Kyha gown accented with a maximalist veil option also by the same designer. Jewelry was kept simple, as were hair and makeup by Primp Beauty and Beauty by Rayn.

On trend: open stem bouquet

The bouquet by Niche Hitch incorporated Asiatic lilies, iris, daffodils, nigella, sweet pea, tuberose, scabiosa, calla lilies, and ornamental grasses.

Sculptural floral arrangements

The ceremony space featured tall purple pillars with sculptural floral arrangements made from the perfect blend of purples and oranges, as well as fruit accents such as papayas.

Reception inspo: maximalist design

For the reception tablescapes, it was all about maximalist design that incorporated a variety of flowers and fruits that had contrasting textures and vibrant colors.

Theme: florals & fruit

Instead of one large centerpiece, each rectangular table had three smaller centerpieces, staggered between tapered candles, colorful glassware, and mounds of fruit. The floral was color blocked for a more dramatic effect, tall “green goddess” calla lilies created movement throughout the table.

3 cakes are better than 1

A shoot with the goal of ‘maximalist’ meant a trio of cakes from Sweet Bree’s, all complimenting the mood board in abstract shapes and colors. The waves of color blocking of the 3-tier played off the head table linen design, while the single tier scalloped cake repeated the architectural elements of the cake table. The free flowing sculpted 2-tier was color blocked as well with blush on the sides and the top of the cake being peach.
