Kaley Cuoco Get the Look: 10 Wedding Dresses with Capes

Where were we this weekend? Wishing we were at Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook’s AH-MAZING wedding. It looked incredible, and we’ll be covering everything (including those matching denim jackets #obsessed) later, but for now. It’s all about the dress. And when we say dress, we mean Kaley’s stunningly-gorgeous caped couture. When I saw the first few pics of it pop up on Insta on Saturday night, I pretty much died. And obvi her new husband still couldn’t get over it by the weekend’s end. He posted a photo of their first official Mr. & Mrs. smooch on Sunday, with a caption that read “Good morning honey, I love you, and I’m sorry. I am still processing the greatest night of my life marrying the love of my life! I mean god damn that dress was amazing!” Yes, ‘twas, KC, yes ‘twas.

We only got word about the dress being custom Reem Acra a little while ago, but does anyone else think this look is going to be making massive waves in the wedding world from here on out? Because we do!🙋🏻

We could go on about all the highlights of Mrs. Cook’s haute ensem, but LBH, the best part of it was that cape. Want to know how to be one of the most Instagrammed brides ever? Three words: wear a cape… We’d prob get the same feedback from Brad Goreski and Daniela Viviana Romero, close friends of Kaley and her stylists for the day.

Capes are crushing it in bridal RN – Kate Middleton gave us a lesson earlier this year. And no, we’re not exactly talking about a little red riding hood/American Horror Story hooded robe kind of look. No, this is much more modern, chic and contemporary. Goddess like. You can do it like Kaley, with a sheer, full-length, floor-sweeping cape appliquéd with 3D florals and perfectly-placed crystals (built-in sparkle, so you don’t have to go crazy with your jewelry for the day), opt for something all-lace or delicately embroidered, or tweak the trend for some soft, gauzy tulle shoulder drapes.

It photographs flawlessly 👌👌👌, gives you some movement ((even if everything is standing still)), and has a distinctly-feminine flair to it. Not to mention, it’s pretty ballsy – gives a subtle nod to superheroine greatness – if Wonder Woman got married, she’d rock one, no doubt – and a fabulous statement veil alternative. Kaley matched her Reem dress with a Reem cape, and paired it all with a Jennifer Behr hair clip – so she had the same statement-making effect of a veil, without having to go super literal.
