Is it bad that I’ve never thrown a holiday party before? In my 30 years of life, I’ve never hosted a holiday party of my own… And LBH, it’s primarily because of lack of space ((my husband and I have been house hunting with our 1.5 year old for the last 6+ months, and hopeeee to be in our first home come January/February, hallelujah)), but also, red and green in heavy doses never exactly sat well with me, and eggnog makes me gag. SO! I’m making a promise to myself that 2019 will be the year of our first official December fete, but until then, I’m getting totally inspired by one of our favorites: Kate Aspen. It’s been over a decade since the brand broke the mold in the world of ‘I Do’ but since then, it’s been ho-ho-holding it down in the holiday party space, too!
Even if the weather outside is frightful, Kate Aspen's Holiday collection will make your celebration inside oh-so delightful! From personalized glasses to stocking stuffers and festive favors, KA’s unique gift pieces are just the things to make your party truly your own, while still keeping the holiday spirit alive in every way. And for the record: there’s not a single mistletoe or eggnog punch bowl in sight. Soooo, already, we’re winning 🎄🙌🎄.
P.S. I’m more than on board with this picture
Okay, yes, there are a lot of classic holiday hues going on, but they’re balanced with a lot of mixed metallic touches, too. Silver glitter and gold mercury glass votives, gold glitter coin garlands, and scattered mini sleigh bells. The red holly is whimsy and the green wreaths and pine needles are rustic-chic. Plus, the plaid green tablecloth - with it’s mint, teal and dark green intersections - is just so good.
And not literally, unless you count the cheery gold etching that you can personalize each glass with… Happy Holidays...Ho Ho Ho… Eat Drink and Be Merry. A good holiday party involves spirits for both the over and under-21 set, so having drink ware designated for all party-goers is a great start. Serve up spiked cocoa or champs for the adults and let the kiddies - if they’re invited! - toast with milk and cookies out of adorable mason jars or vintage milk bottles.
Who said holiday parties had to forget formality? We didn’t! Instead of ugly sweater parties, which we’ve grown just a litttttle tired of, we love the idea of inviting guests with a classier couture code. Metallics? Glitter? Even their best versions of red and green? And to match the dress decorum, Kate Aspen recommends decking out your digs with ornament place cards, glitzy snowflake coasters, and silver reindeer napkin rings.
And of course, if your holiday party doesn’t end with a fabulous favor - housed in a Kate Aspen Christmas tree favor box - did it even happen? We recommend personalized wine stoppers, after all, the holiday season is a rough time. Some extra wine won’t put ya on the naughty list, we promise!
