New Jersey Community Couple Has An Industrial Glam Wedding

Robeling Machine Shop in New Jersey

Steph and J are deeply rooted in the Trenton community, so it was natural for them to get married at Roebling Wire Works. These two are the kind of people the world needs more of. They've dedicated their lives to helping others. Steph teaches financial literacy to underprivileged kids, and J runs the Trenton Soup Kitchen. They also both have this infectious laughter that gets everyone else around them going.

New Jersey Wedding Venue

From Events By Merida- Fun fact: the decommissioned wire factory is better known as the host of Art All Night and the local Punk Rock Flea Market. There had been one wedding there before, but from my understanding, had been smaller in scope.

It's an old building with unique challenges, but for someone who's obsessed with slightly run-down industrial spaces, it was heaven. The main goal with a space that is this large is to fill it.

Industrial Wedding Venue

DFW Event and Design custom-made the ceremony arbor to fit the look of the venue, and then decked it out in florals. A mix of greenery and all white florals with bleached, dried floral elements were used to make all the arrangements.

There was also a small silk flower made from a family member's wedding dress tucked in with all of the gorgeous floral bouquets for that extra special touch.

First reception look.

We love that Blue Jar Photo captured the photo of Steph seeing the wedding reception decor set up for the first time. What a special moment to see all the hard work and planning come to life.

Cat Cutout

Steph and J adore their kitty, Bowie. Most wedding receptions are not a good place for animals, especially small ones.

Roebling Wire Works also has a lot of little nooks and crannies that a cat would love to hide out in. So, to still have Bowie be part of their wedding, they made a life-size cardboard cutout of him! He hung out by the sweetheart table all night!

Giant Centerpieces

DFW Event and Design created the reception centerpieces. They were elevated to fill the space- and spanned nearly five-six feet across, each! DFW Event and Design shares more details about the florals below.

I really wanted to focus on creating a romantic space within a raw, super industrial space that was special to the Bride and Groom. I used straight lines and soft elements to create the look we were going for.

Black pipes held up floating arrangements running across the tops of the long tables with structure candleholders at its base.

I always design with the idea that I want all guests to be able to turn their heads and notice something different at a nearby table. The other tablescapes were candle forward with the same black structure elements, paired with metallic linens to make the space shine.

Epic Bar

Steph and J wanted the bar to be epic. DFW Event Design brought in the lounge and made a custom sign to hang above the bar. The bar itself  is rented from 13th Street Cocktails.
