A 400-person wedding in Arkansas that still felt personal

With nearly 400 guests, this traditional wedding was one big occasion in Little Rock, Arkansas! Katherine and Nick originally met in high school during their time together on the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) team. After college, a photo of the two with other ROTC team members popped up on Katherine’s Timehop app. Katherine ended up texting Nick to ask how he was doing. They eventually met for coffee, which turned into a 7-hour date.

From the bride

“The wedding party and family were so kind, and I couldn’t have been happier to marry such an amazing man. I’m glad we had a lot of guests. They made the day very special. It was hard to believe someone I’d known for so long would turn out to be my knight in shining armor,” explains Katherine, the bride.

Nervous? The amazing people around you on your day will help... sometimes with socks!

One moment that stood out for Katherine was right before the ceremony began. She was nervous and her head was swirling. Not because she was about to marry Nick, but because she isn't fond of being the center of attention. At that moment right before her father escorted her down the aisle, he pulled up his pants leg to display socks that were covered in Katherine’s face. She had given the socks to him as a joke when she was about 14 years old. They both laughed together while their wedding planner, Brittany Paden with Brittany Bloom Events & Design, sighed in relief with the hope that Katherine would like the surprise. Katherine admits it calmed her down and gave her exactly what she needed in that moment to walk down the aisle happy and content.

Choosing the right caterer will help you create a meal that you (and your guests!) will love

Vibrant Occasions Catering created the perfect meal for the event. Guests were served mini chicken and waffles, mini New England crab cakes, saucy Asian meatballs and salmon nigiri. For dinner, the buffet displayed choices of grilled pork chops with chasseur sauce, bulgogi brisket, tri-color roasted potatoes, harvest vegetables, green vegetable mix, macaroni and cheese, Caesar salad and an assortment of freshly-baked bread.

“I lost track of how many compliments during the wedding and the following weeks after about how unexpectedly delicious the food was. Many said it was the best quality food they’d had at a wedding,” Katherine says about her wedding dinner.
