Danielle and Dylan may be East Coasters, but it only took one year of living in Salt Lake City for Utah to become an important part of their story.
When it came time to plan their wedding, they wanted their friends and family to understand exactly why they had fallen in love with the state. Instead of returning home to celebrate, Danielle and Dylan invited everyone west for a destination wedding weekend at The Continental built around Utah’s mountain landscapes, beginning with a welcome party in Orem and culminating in an intimate ceremony deep in Provo Canyon photographed by Bri Parkin Photography.
They even extended the adventure beyond the wedding itself, inviting guests to join them in Moab afterward for a few more days of exploring.

The festivities began the day before the wedding at the Nordic Dream Escape Airbnb tucked against the mountains in Orem.
Danielle and Dylan started the evening with an intimate dinner prepared by a private chef, giving their families time to share stories about their relationship and reminisce about loved ones. After dinner, the rest of their friends joined them for a much more laid-back portion of the evening filled with live music, drinks, and dancing.
For guests arriving after long flights, the welcome party gave everyone a chance to reconnect without the structure of the wedding day itself. More importantly, the mountain setting immediately introduced them to the Utah scenery Danielle and Dylan had brought them across the country to experience.

The wedding morning was intentionally slow. Danielle and Dylan got ready with their families at the Airbnb before beginning the journey toward Provo Canyon later that afternoon. Before leaving, Danielle planned a first look with her father and surprised him with a photograph from her childhood to place on his tie.
The small keepsake turned a familiar wedding-day tradition into something deeply personal and created a quiet family moment before everyone headed into the mountains.
A bumpy road led to an unforgettable ceremony view
Getting to Danielle and Dylan’s ceremony location was part of the adventure.
The journey up Provo Canyon included a long, rocky, and bumpy road, but the couple had chosen the secluded location for a reason. They wanted their loved ones to see some of the most spectacular mountain scenery Utah had to offer.
Of course, the mountains delivered one additional surprise. Rain began falling lightly just as everyone arrived at the parking lot.
Fortunately, the storm passed almost as quickly as it appeared, stopping just in time for the ceremony to begin.
Dylan’s dad officiated the intimate mountain ceremony
Surrounded by pine trees and sweeping mountain scenery, Danielle and Dylan exchanged vows in a ceremony officiated by Dylan’s father.
The intimate guest count allowed the ceremony to remain especially present and personal. There was no need for an elaborate setting to compete with the landscape around them. The scent of pine, a light breeze, comfortable 70-degree weather, and the mountains created the atmosphere naturally.
After the ceremony, Danielle and Dylan spent the next couple of hours taking photographs and exploring the surrounding area, allowing themselves time to actually experience the place they had worked so hard to reach.

An intimate reception at The Continental in Provo
After their adventure in the mountains, everyone headed back to Provo for a reception at The Continental.
The evening shifted from rugged scenery to an intimate, classy setting with florals by Foxglove Flowers that maintained the relaxed feeling that had defined the rest of the weekend.
Danielle and Dylan incorporated only the wedding traditions that mattered to them. Toasts were shared over dinner, the newlyweds danced with their parents, and they cut their wedding cake before opening the dance floor for the rest of the night.
Rather than packing the reception with formalities, they left plenty of room for guests to simply eat, celebrate, and dance together.
Brunch turned the wedding into a true Utah weekend
The wedding reception was not quite the end of Danielle and Dylan’s celebration.
The following morning, they hosted brunch as a thank-you to the friends and family members who had traveled across the country to be with them. It brought everyone together one more time before the official wedding weekend came to a close.
For the more adventurous guests, however, there was another option: keep going. Danielle and Dylan invited anyone who wanted to join them in Moab for the remainder of the week, extending the celebration into an opportunity to experience even more of the landscapes that had made them fall in love with Utah.
For two East Coasters who had only called Salt Lake City home for a relatively short time, Utah clearly left a lasting impression. Their wedding allowed them to share that connection with the people they loved most, from a mountainside dinner in Orem and a rain-kissed ceremony in Provo Canyon to an intimate reception, farewell brunch, and optional adventure in Moab.
Instead of simply choosing Utah as their wedding destination, Danielle and Dylan turned the state itself into part of the guest experience.
