This Elopement Was a Jungle Disco Dream in Tulum

Bride and groom walking through Tulum jungle

This bride and groom fell in love with Tulum's laid back but lively vibe, and their wedding plans emphasized just that at this intimate, jungle meets disco, elopement. Angelina Cardenas Events  helped them plan their day full of glamour, while Maria Limon DESIGN | STYLING | FLORALS styled the day with a few surprises up her sleeve.  The florals were also created by Maria Limon, and hair and makeup was courtesy of David Friedmann Beauty.  Make sure to keep scrolling to read some reflections on what the bride and groom described as some of their favorite parts of their incredible event at Kima Tulum  with photography by the very talented Memory Box Photography

The first thing the couple raved about was Maria Limon's interpretation and execution of the couple's vision, particularly the altar they wanted. They gave her ideas and their preferences, but never in a million years dreamed to what level she would elevate it. She tied together every little detail so beautifully and in ways better than the bride said she even imagined. They wanted the final result to be as much of a surprise as possible, so neither of them saw the ceremony space before they walked down the aisle. The altar literally took the bride's breath away and still does when she thinks back on that moment.

Their photographer was also an important choice for them. At first they were a little discouraged because they were trying to find the style they liked that was also within their budget, and their first choice was unavailable. They happened to find and meet with a few other incredible photographers, but right when they were trying to make a decision, their first choice became available! Things started to feel a little fortuitous after this. even though there’s always speed bumps along the way when planning an event like this. It started to feel for them like the bride's favorite line from The Alchemist: “When you want something, the whole universe conspires in order for you to achieve it.”

The couple was absolutely in love with Kima itself. That place is a little treasure in the middle of the jungle and it was such a beautiful, unique, and intimate way to share such a big moment with their family and friends. They wanted to show them a different side of Tulum and wanted them to fall in love with it just as much as they did. And they accomplished just that!

A few words of advice and reflection from the bride: "I vastly underestimated the time it takes to plan a wedding - even the intimate one I envisioned.  At first we started planning the wedding ourselves, then realized we really needed a planner about 6 months out.  Angelina Cardenas Events  is a true professional at what she does and it was a miracle that she was still available. After that, things moved pretty quickly as she pulled together an incredible team. Maria Limon is a dream with design and we are so glad we trusted her. Fred from Memory Box Photography took an hour to talk and get to know us on the phone. David Friedmann and Espe were angels and nailed the style on the wedding hair and make up. They were such a talented team!"
