Charles and Judica grew up in the same neighborhood in Tanzania. Years later, Charles had just begun his career as a doctor in a nearby region, while Judica, a nurse, had recently completed her studies. As Judica searched for a job, Charles’s mother stepped in, passing along her number to Charles and asking if he could assist. He not only helped Judica find work, but what started as friendship soon blossomed into love. Their families embraced the relationship wholeheartedly, and Charles and Judica knew an engagement would follow. “It was a beautiful moment at our family’s home — simple, heartfelt, and filled with joy.” Vibrant colors and the rich traditions of the Maasai village shaped Charles and Judica’s wedding at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Melia Serengeti Lodge, a celebration that embraced culture, community, and their modern love story. “It was important for us to weave our heritage into every detail of the celebration,” the couple shared. Captured by Morgan Leigh Photography, this vision came to life through a bold, joyful color palette and Maasai-inspired accents.

Intimate wedding of twenty-four
With just twenty-four guests, the experience was intentionally intimate, allowing everyone to immerse themselves in culture while celebrating love. Planned with the help of Hoopes Events, “It wasn’t just a wedding — it was a reflection of who we are and where we come from.”

Traditional meets contemporary wedding style
To honor both heritage and their lives together, Charles and Judica wore traditional attire and contemporary fashion: Charles in a suit, Judica in a white gown, and both donning traditional clothing for other key moments.
