A luxury Hindi destination wedding with a French-inspired reception

traditional Hindi wedding outfits

Tasha and Ian originally met in France, which is why it was ultimately the only suitable destination for their colorful, weekend-long Hindi wedding hosted at La Bastide de Marie, a winery in the countryside just a touch northwest of Aix En Provence. Their wedding was a perfect blend of their cultures, showcasing their warm and laid-back personalities. The most important thing for them was their guests, and they ensured that everyone was comfortable throughout each of the weekend's events.

The winning wedding vendor combo? Reliability and understanding

They chose La Bastide de Marie, a luxurious boutique hotel in the heart of Provence that feels like a home away from home. The venue's surroundings of vineyards and Provencal hills made for an incredible backdrop. The color palette was inspired by the blue shutters of the Bastide and the lavender grown in their herb garden, which was one of Tasha's favorite things. To make their day absolutely perfect, the couple hired the most reliable team possible, which is some of the most frequent advice we hear! If you hire vendors that you know you can rely on, and that you know understand your unique style, the wedding planning experience will be that much smoother!

classic blue and white reception

Blending their cultures in a unique, personal way created a warm, yet luxurious vibe

The ceremony layout featured a mixture of traditional chairs, lounge furniture, and bistro-style tables to create a more relaxed atmosphere. The ceremony was led by a female Hindu priest - the only one in the UK - who tailored the Hindu ceremony to include the most important aspects for Tasha and Ian. In the spirit of fusing cultures, Tasha wore white but opted not to have a bouquet. However, their matching varmalas were made of white lisianthus flowers. When it came to creating the tablescape for dinner, they chose a simple yet elegant and romantic look, which felt natural in the space and featured numerous candles that added a sense of warmth. The flowers featured varying hues of blue and purple amongst cream flowers and greenery which brought life to the blue clad tables.

Music played an important part in celebrating the couple's personalities and style

When it came time for the reception, music was an incredibly important part of their day - both lovers of Soul and R&B, they also wanted to infuse aspects of Indian culture into the music selection. Tasha and Ian chose to have a single-tier cake at the top of a macaron tower. The cake was a lemon sponge with strawberry filling and rose icing, designed by the talented pastry chef at the Bastide using only locally-sourced natural ingredients. The same was true for the macarons, which were lavender, Earl Grey, pistachio, and vanilla flavored, matching the color palette perfectly.
