Understated jewel tones are the perfect Mexico wedding color palette

Brazilian bride Sarah and Australian groom Lucas left their home in Lake Tahoe to host their disco daydream destination wedding in Mexico City full of dreamy tropical details and plenty of florals and sparkles.  The couple had visited Mexico a handful of times and loved the food and good vibes in Mexico City.  At first, they began by planning a simple celebration for no more than 80 people (or less!).  However, the more Sarah and Lucas got into the details with Karla Arroyo Event Architect, the more inspiration they found.  Soon enough, Sarah's brother Pablo (a designer and creative in NYC) and Karla were working around the clock to create the perfect mood for this dream of a wedding day!

Colorful destination wedding style

For their wedding at Prim, photographed by MC Weddings, bride Sarah wore a gorgeous pair of lavender Jimmy Choo shoes with a crystal strap.  She asked her bridesmaids to wear a variety of dress shades, dark to light, all of which were reminiscent of a sunset into twilight when they stood together.  These same colors complemented to colorful choices the bride and groom-to-be made for their ceremony florals.  The groom and his groomsmen wore classic blue suits with the groom donning an all-white, textured boutonniere and the groomsmen wearing differently patterned ties.

Lush greenery: A beautifully textured decor

The day started off with a picture-perfect ceremony set amongst lush greenery courtesy of Polen that was native to the area.   For this, Sarah swapped out her original all white, fluffy bouquet for a colorful bouquet of "shades of pink" stems that popped against the greenery and wood details of the space.

To help their guests find their way, Sarah and Lucas had a dried floral seating chart featuring pretty jewel-toned flowers on each card.  Polen created delicate white and greenery arrangements to sit in front of the structure that also incorporated dried elements to continuity of texture.

Throughout the reception, guests enjoyed a gorgeous greenery installation accented by hanging disco balls, terracotta and olive decor elements, whimsical florals, and of course, delicious local food and drinks.  Each and every accent from Local Trendy and 11:11 complemented the venue itself and appeared as though it should just always be there!  Of course, the night wouldn't be complete without a champagne tower and a reception mini-dress outfit change from the bride.
