Married In Mexico City: A Destination Wedding With Class, Culture, And Style

Everyone who’s ever considered planning a destination wedding is familiar with Mexico’s famous beaches…but what do you know about Mexico City? It’s a totally different vibe with incredible vintage architecture and huge green spaces right in the middle of a bustling city–filled with art and intrigue! Not to mention the world-class cuisine and mixologists that use only the finest mezcal and tequila–your guests are sure to have a great time! This styled shoot dives into everything that makes Mexico City such a gem, especially for weddings.

Ka Event Architect designed this cool, laid-back wedding inspiration. They wanted to highlight the dual nature of the city, being both modern and old-world at the same time. MC Weddings took these stunning photos that are full of life and movement, just like Mexico City itself. Want more? Check out the full gallery. SOUL-SOOTHING HARMONY

Married In Mexico City: A Destination Wedding With Class, Culture, And Style

Magnificent lighting, decor, and floral arrangements take their cue from all the romance and the bold and beautiful energies this eclectic city has to offer. The bride and groom are elegance and style personified as they sport custom-made outfits by local (and wildly talented) designers. So many seemingly different elements, seamlessly blended, are on display here and surprisingly, somehow manage to be both classic and contemporary, vintage and edgy all at the same time–a true reflection of the nature of this new age city with old-world charm. There’s a soul-soothing harmony to every detail that comes together here, from walls that are perfectly aging to beautifully patterned floor tiles, high ceilings in atriums, and plant-filled venues with terracotta pots to gold-rimmed stools and rustic wicker chairs and with floor to ceiling glass doors and windows that allude to an era long gone by.

PICTURE YOURSELF HERE

Married In Mexico City: A Destination Wedding With Class, Culture, And Style

Can’t you just imagine yourselves here, having the time of your life, soaking in the romance, sounds of mariachi in the air, tying the knot, and then grabbing a cold one at the tiendita after all that unbelievably flavourful food, fun, music and dancing, taking a spin around the neighborhood as new Mr. and Mrs. in a classic ride with cans trailing and spirits soaring. Sure, everyone loves a beachside wedding with that whole vacation vibe. And if you chose that, your family and friends will probably be talking about it a month later or when the wedding pictures finally come through. But, if you truly want a wedding that is simply unforgettable, that no one ever stops talking about, then the cobblestone streets with their classic cars and serenading mariachis, colonial-era, architecturally interesting buildings, glass-encased terraces, open-air gardens, aged cathedrals, and other historic event spaces covered with more monstera plants than you’ve ever seen is the way to go! After all, whether it’s the clinking of champagne glasses overflowing, the tinkling of laughter, and one delectably rustic beautiful white cake–everything is just better in Mexico City!
