Liza and Austin met on a Saturday during Buckeye Country Superfest in 2019. After returning to Albany, they decided to meet again the following Monday morning — just before Liza headed to her first summer class at OSU. When classes wrapped for the day, Liza drove over to say hello before heading home. That simple visit became their routine, seeing one another before and after classes each day. After a period of long distance, the two decided to take a break. But, as fate would have it, in 2022 they reunited in Columbus, Ohio, where they found an apartment together and adopted their mini Bernedoodle, Blitz. Austin surprised Liza in front of her family by proposing during a family dinner at the New Albany Country Club before heading upstairs where a celebration was waiting. Punctuated by soft blue hydrangeas, Liza’s backyard dream wedding came to life as she and Austin were married at her family home in New Albany, Ohio. From the church ceremony to an elegant backyard soiree planned with the help of Aisle & Co. and captured by Kismet Visuals, the day struck a perfect balance between relaxed and elevated energies.

Delicate blue floral invitations

Kicking off the day the right way
Liza and her bridesmaids celebrated the day to come with a champagne “toast” that really turned into more of a champagne shower.

Detail we love: playing with texture
We absolutely love the contrast of Liza’s smooth silk gown and the bridesmaids’ heavily textured blue floral dresses. Liza wore her grandmother’s veil paired with her own wedding gown — the very first dress she had tried on!

We will forever be obsessed with a blue and white color palette, especially when paired with a natural oak. It’s timeless and perfect for any setting from backyard to beach.
