We were just talking about the annual Pantone Color of the Year announcement last week, and couldn’t really catch our breaths when we started seeing all these social posts start popping up last night about LIVING CORAL. The choice is super fun and vibrant, and despite the fact that we’ve seen it go over swimmingly in weddings over the last few years, it’s really just the beginning for this versatile, punchy palette – because it kind of gives us life. And wedding vendors tend to agree!
Brides and grooms, get to know PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral: an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge. “Sociable and spirited, the engaging nature of [PANTONE 16-1546] Living Coral welcomes and encourages lighthearted activity,” sounds pretty fitting for weddings, right? “Symbolizing our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits, [PANTONE 16-1546] Living Coral embodies our desire for playful expression.” Joyful, optimistic, playful, all good words when it comes to wedding vibes.
But before we all start envisioning a Pixar-inspired palette or an amped up Dayglow paint party, let’s scale back for a sec. Yes, the pinky-peachy-orangey look can be tropical, bright, energized, and loud, but it can also be mellow, soft, and subtle, especially when it’s incorporated into a collective+collaborative color curation with other citrus, cream or blush hues or with edgy, yet feminine metallics and textured media. And it really can work for any wedding style, be it tropical, preppy, boho, rustic, romantic, whimsy or stone cold wild. Not quite sure we can say that Ultra Violet worked that way…
We won’t go overboard with a ton of explanation on what can be commissioned in coral, because really everything can, but we’ve gone through some of our favorite vendor shares, real weddings and social feeds and rounded up the raddest reef-inspired renditions.
