Has COVID changed the way we think about weddings?

Ever since March 2020, the majority of our wedding plans have had to be put on hold. Some were brave enough to go ahead, eloping, live streaming, or hosting a wedding party of 10, but most postponed, waiting, hoping, and praying for a break from tough restrictions. Our fingers are crossed that 2021 will be the year of weddings, but how has COVID changed the way we think about them?

Maybe it’s the restrictions, or maybe it’s that we’re all holding our family a little closer, but the weddings of 2021 are forecasted to be on a much smaller scale. Huge and extravagant events are out and cherished memories with loved ones are in. The focus is on the wedding party, making it an extra special time together, making lasting memories to be shared with others at a later date.

Has COVID changed the way we think about weddings?

A key trend emerging in this area is bridal party getaways. In the days leading up to the special moment, more brides are choosing to escape with their bridal parties either for a vacay or a staycay. Gifting matching personalised pyjamas is another way brides are choosing to make these trips extra special for their party. Not only do they get to enjoy these beautiful pieces together, but individually they get to hold onto them long after the wedding as a special reminder. Consider gifting the bridesmaids the Toni Long Sleeve Satin Pyjamas in blush, the mother of the bride in eggshell blue, and the blushing bride in white, each personalised with monogram embroidery.

The unpredictability of COVID has only increased the importance of documenting the special day to be shared online with those restricted by health and travel. A key trend in this area is photographing the wedding party getting ready. Not only does the addition of personalised bridal robes look good but they provide an added touch of lasting luxury. Consider the Helena Lace Robe for the bride, with her bridal party in blush Jasmine Robes or perhaps matching Florence Luxury Velvet Slippers in blush.
