A good wedding photographer captures every special moment on your big day so, you’ll want to make sure every moment is curated–from the location to the styling. That means making sure you and your bridesmaids are on point even while you’re “getting ready”. But what to wear? You’ll want something easy to get in and out of so you don’t mess up your hair and makeup, something comfortable, and of course, something cute. Robes are great, but we’ve seen them so many times before (and you know where to find them), so we decided to put a twist on this getting-ready look roundup–no robes! Then, once you’ve secured your getting-ready look, here are a few tips on how to be photo-ready while you’re getting ready and what to eat in the AM to get you ready to party all night long.

1. nap dress

Made famous by Hill House Home, the “nap” dress went viral during lockdown and it didn’t stop there. While they coined the phrase, for us a nap dress pretty much just means a comfy dress that’s easy to slip in and out of without messing up your hair. And while you can find a bunch of good options out there, we do have a thing for the original, because, well…just look at them!!!

2. Striped Pajama Set

Striped Pajama Set

Wearing a striped pajama set for getting ready at a wedding can be a fantastic and unique choice for bridesmaids. These cozy and stylish sets not only provide comfort during the pre-wedding preparations but also add a touch of fun and personality to the bridal party.

See what dresses these bridesmaids wore when they changed out of their getting ready looks.

The contrasting stripes can create a charming and playful aesthetic in pre-wedding photos, and they make for a memorable and delightful experience for bridesmaids, enhancing the overall bonding and camaraderie of the bridal party as they celebrate the special day together.

We are a little obsessed with this look. Not only are they great for getting ready (especially if there’s a chill in the air), but your girls can wear them with their dresses later for some super cute pics!

4. button down shirts

There’s something effortlessly chic about an oversized button-down and perfectly done hair…don’t you think? We love this look for brides with a more minimalist style and for modern venues.

5. PJs

Getting Ready Outfits

A cute pajama set is always a safe bet for getting ready. Plus, you know that they’ll be put to good use after the wedding. There are a ton of adorable options out there, and we definitely recommend the printed options as a way to incorporate your wedding colors into your getting-ready photos. 6. sweat sets

Give your bridesmaids the gift that keeps on giving–a cute athleisure set. Seriously, they’re adorable and definitely functional, plus they’re super comfy! If you’re more of a sporty crew and lace and satin just isn’t your vibe…this one’s for you.
