When it comes to weddings there are a few unifying elements, one of which happens to be this bloggers personal favorite, is the wedding cake. Gorgeous flowing gowns are great fun, flowers are always a treat to look at, a beautifully accessorized venue in a stunning location may leave me eyeballing plane tickets, but it is the artful way that a wedding cake boils down an event to several tiers of flour and sugar. The constant one up-ing of cake artists lead the craft down paths one never expects. Flavors, textures, shapes, and decor never stay the same for too long, and that fact is no more obvious than on the hashtags of Instagram. There are too many niche cake ideas to follow its hard to keep up.
