Vintage Backyard Wedding

We are not sure if you remember when we featured this adorable Record Sleeve Save The Dates but, we are extremely jazzed to see them used at an actual wedding. The wedding of Em & Glenn that took place in one of our favorite places, British Columbia. Shawnigan Lake to be exact.

They have some quirky wedding details that we are pretty sure you are going to adore. Emily & Glenn’s wedding had a vintage theme and Emily incorporated this into even the smallest details. The decorations were fabulous! From the plates, to the pillows on the chairs, to the encyclopedia center pieces; everything was vintage.

We especially love Em’s Oui wedding ring, her Vivanne Westwood Blue Shoes and of course there adorable custom wedding wine labels. Everything is simply delightful and captured perfectly by Orange Passion Photography.

Believe it or not three weeks before their big day their venue canceled on them. Thankfully some kind neighbors let them use their tennis court for the reception and helped them make the rest of the garden look beautiful for their ceremony. They pulled it off, and everyone came together to make their day a perfect one! If you would like to see their wedding video click here.

We adore Em and Glenn’s vintage inspired table decor. Simple yet tastefully done, and of course doable. A variety of vintage plates where used that gently lay upon a antique table cloth. Each guest had a brown box wrapped with twine and filled with cookies as their favor. Inexpensive, yet super thoughtful.

  9. Jen: We actually made the wine labels ourselves! It was a labor of love… We designed them in paintbrush then printed the labels at home. It was fairly time consuming but they turned out great!

  10. This is my idea wedding! The tables are gorgeous! I especially love the vintage lace and plates!

  11. Wow I LOVE all the mismatched china. Did you collect it all? I’d like to do that but I never seem to find anything good. I’m in Seattle – maybe a trip to the Island thrift shops is in my future! Also, can you tell me where you found your groomsmen and groom’s vests?

  12. Incredibly gorgeous wedding, love love the decor & the stunning couple of course. And in beautiful British Columbia. :)

  13. Thanks ladies!

Anne: There’s a mixture! We started collecting pieces from local thrift shops then were randomly searching the internet one day and found a lovely local lady with a huge supply of mismatched china and silverware. We rented the bulk from her! I totally recommend a trip to the Island for some vintage scavenging. There are some wonderful (and affordable) places.

We actually rented the guys outfits from Black & Lee. We just opted for the flat black vest. We searched the menswear stores in Victoria and couldn’t find anything close to what we wanted so I’m extremely thankful!
