It’s engagement season, friends, and once you have a ring around that finger you can jump into planning mode ((whether you want to or not)) as HXC or as hushed as you’d like. You’ll want to start considering a few dates first and then vetting some venues; once you’ve got a single date and place booked, then you can start thinking about save the dates. And if you ask us, those save the dates mean GAME ON 😍😍😍. It’s no longer a hypothetical wedding, it’s a ‘barring-any-huge-issues (and let’s hope there aren’t any!!) we’re getting married on this day, and it’s ours, and we love it’ wedding. I’m biased, because I used a Minted Save the Date for my own wedding 4+ years ago, but I will say, it doesn’t get much better than deciding on a date and making it official with all of your favorite people using a Minted design. We’re pretty close with the online wedding stationer and they gave us some reasons why a STD will never lose its ‘standard’ status.
There’s a good chance you won’t have all of your wedding aesthetic details set before you send your save the dates (i.e. the official color palette, the granular components of your atmosphere/vibe, floral inspo, etc.), but even so, this will be the first time you share a piece of your wedding day with your intended guests - friends and family - so you’ll have at least some style cues and overall vibe vision to follow. TBH, I had an idea about my whimsy-romantic wedding feel before I chose my STDs, but when I found the design, I was completely entranced by the dusty rose font color. From then on, dusty rose was my muse. That’s what’s so awesome about the Minted Save the Date selection, because it’s comprised of unique designs from independent artists - each with their own style / perspective and artistry - you can always find something that resonates with you and your partner. Your spirit animal in stationery form is out there, for sure! My sister and I got married 4 years apart and both got our save the dates from Minted, yet they were so insanely different that there was no cause for comparison concern.
Yes, we could truthfully testify that no couple would ever have trouble picking something out, but at the end of the day, the modern, soon-to-be-married couple isn’t used to limits. They want what they want, and we can’t argue with it, because (hello) we were there ourselves! That being said, with their Save the Dates, Minted affords couples unlimited custom design changes at the hands of their own dedicated Minted designer. It’s like having a graphic designer, artist, wordsmith and poet at your disposal all at once, bringing your wedding vision to life. 🙌 So, whether you want something changed with the outline of the design or need to request a modification on some of the verbiage, you can do so with zero questions asked! The designers - and your collaborators - will make adjustments to your save the date so that you can feel 100p comfortable confirming that order.
Oh how I wish I could turn back time and wait to send out our STDs until we had our engagement photos back, but it is what it is, I can’t imagine a more fitting format for our [wedding] first impression! Although, I’m pretty sure that every save the date that has arrived in our mailbox ever since has included e-photos of all my adorable couple friends and family. There’s only so many pictures you can post on Insta, so you might as well save one or two that you love for this purpose! If you’re having trouble deciding what looks best, just choose your absolute fave photo, upload it on Minted, and it’ll generate all the card options that work with your chosen capture! Some picks are priced more competitively than others, but undoubtedly there will be a design to match your style and budget.
I can vividly remember writing each and every one of our guests’ addresses out on our save the dates (but only because we hadn’t finalized our guest list yet by the time they were printed), but Minted will legit do all this dirty work for you - if you give them the goods! If you can upload your guest list in CSV format, you can move forward with FREE guest addressing + even if you don’t know who’s on your A, B, or C guest list yet, you can still score with FREE custom envelopes - what I live for whenever I order from Minted. Plus, a number of designs can be filtered so as to show only the ones that come with a matching FREE wedding website and invitation suite, so you can cross even more items off your ‘I Do’ to-do list, if you’re so inclined!
Don’t let them BS you, your guests cannot WAIT to get your save the date in their mailbox - especially if you’re sending them out right after the holidays (it’s a welcomed break from all the yuletide greetings). As soon as they have it, they’ll add it to their fridge, and stand back everyday watching their STD collage grow. And again, you can rest assured that with the endless amount of options to choose from, you’ll never have the same save the date as another one of your engaged friends. From save the date magnets to save the date postcards, letterpress to foil-pressed, minibooks to petite offerings, there’s truly something for every couple to fall in love with.
If you are or even if you’re not one of the soon-to-be-married types I described above (the ones diving right on into wedding planning), you can see for yourself how amazingly-luxe everything looks and feels by signing up for a FREE save the date sample kit. Filled with a magnet, postcard, silhouette shape card, and a foil-pressed STD, the sample kit goes a long way to make even stationery skeptics believe in thick and luxurious paper with rich and vibrant printing methods. Not. Even. Kidding.
We partnered with Minted to share some superb STD styles with you in light of engagement season! As always, thank you for supporting our sponsors!
