4 Things to Look for When You’re Scouting Out a Wedding Venue

When you’re engaged and just starting to think about venue spaces for your vows, it’s easy for things to get overwhelming. That’s why we’re very much behind the idea of letting your internal “love at first sight” meters do the deciding — and by that, we mean, going into your venue hunt with an open mind and surrendering yourself to the natural pull that some places have on your heart strings. The Bell Tower in Nashville is definitely one of those locations that you visit and immediately feel connected to, but beyond that instantaneous attraction and ambiance, there are also so many built-in features and highlights of the venue that make it an incredible setting to host your nuptials. We’re rounding our favorites up right now.

The Bell Tower was destined for wedding bells

If you thought The Bell Tower had a story, you’d be right; it’s actually a historic church that dates back to 1874, and it has been transformed into a modern, spacious event venue. Exposed beams, copious natural light, and an impressive upper level mezzanine make the scene one of the most desired spots in downtown Nashville. And that’s not even including the rest of the must-have amenities: a full on-site kitchen, bridal lounges, and state-of-the-art light and sound.

As for capacity? The Bell Tower can accommodate seated dinners for up to 400 guests and cocktail-style receptions for up to 700. So, on the day you say ‘I do,’ you don’t have to make concessions about who’s there to witness it. You can have your whole world in attendance.

These points of interest make weddings here a no-brainer

A natural ceremony-to-reception flow.

Not every venue can accommodate an entire wedding day’s worth of events, but The Bell Tower can. You can choose to have your ceremony in the main space or move it up to the mezzanine. Either way, the Infinity Hospitality Group (The Bell Tower’s in-house event team) will work with you to transform/flip your vignettes and make sure your ceremony-to-reception flow is flawless. We happen to love a ceremony situated on the mezzanine, with a romantic reception setup aptly arranged below… but that’s just us!

Endless space.

Have you ever been to a wedding reception where you’re sitting at a table, already squished between tablemates, and you can hear the conversations happening at the table(s) next to you? It’s not a fun feeling to be on top of fellow guests, that’s why we love The Bell Tower’s ample room for table configurations. You and your partner can figure out guest seating — round versus rectangular tables, chiavari versus banquet chairs, etc. — that works for your event without worrying that your guests will be uncomfortable.

Vaulted ceilings that shine with installations.

Apart from the abundance of natural light that pours in from the windows, the event space has stunning vaulted ceilings and exposed beams — which makes it prime for “prettying up.” Whether it’s with intriguing lighting (bistro lights, chandeliers, geometric hanging pendants/lanterns), fiercesome floralscaping (floral chandeliers will always have our hearts), or decadent drapery (floor-to-ceiling curtains on the windows can bring a moodiness unlike any other), the opportunities to play with the framework of this historic haunt are limitless.
