He established his phenomenal event planning expertise through working for boutique catering companies, venue brokers and event management firms. Tyler’s event planning journey began 15 years ago as an intern in Atlanta before quickly making his way to New York City where he now plans elegant, memorable weddings on Hornblower’s luxury yachts.
We got together with Tyler to chat about the advantages of getting married in the Autumn and Winter months of the year. There are quite a few solid perks, and if you were questioning getting married during these chilly months before, we are sure your mind will be made after reading this.
Q: What is the biggest perk of getting married during the months of October through February?
Tyler: There are many perks, but I think one of the biggest may be the financial flexibility offered by vendors in these typically slow months. Many vendors offer specials and discounts that can prove to be beneficial for the budget conscious couple.
Q: Good to know. Why else do you feel that brides may want to push a Winter wedding?
Tyler: Decorwise, who doesn’t love a Winter Wonderland theme for a wedding? An all-white affair with beautiful, lush floral and a decadent, hearty menu is the perfect romantic cure for the winter blah’s. And the interior decks of our yachts are climate controlled so you’ll be snug as a bug no matter how chilly it is outside.
Q: Are there any challenges when it comes to having an Autumn or Winter Wedding?
Tyler: During the Autumn and Winter seasons, people plan vacations surrounding the holidays. It’s definitely important to send those “Save the Date” cards and wedding invitations even earlier than normal. You want to make sure they receive the invite before it’s too late!
