Remember what we said about the Caribbean of the U.S.? Well we weren’t lying. Upon checking into the Coral Lagoon Resort & Marina, you’ll be swept into total waterfront luxury. Even if you don’t take advantage of the marina for your boating needs, you can make sure you and your love get ALL the R&R you need from the comfort of your own two or three-bedroom villa or cottage. Aside from the gourmet kitchens, each villa comes with uh-mazing amenities, including private porches with incredible water views - so you can sprawl out and people watch with the best of them.
Suit, sunnies, floppy hat, cocktail in hand, and palm trees to peep in the distance, what more can you ask for?

So even the most relaxing vacations need to be broken up with a littttttle activity. Whether you’re a hardcore cyclist or novice just looking to take some biking selfies along the way, there are some terrific trails to map out. While some of the routes aren’t the easiest expeditions, they still offer a great opportunity to get active with your guy or girl and you’ll have a ton of stop-and-smile moments along the shore. Make sure to dress comfortably and throw on a backpack with a few provisions for picnicking - because the numerous local beaches are beautiful and peppered with picnic tables to take a break, have some bits and bites, and then power up to pedal back to your resort.

finesse your fishing game - you might catch some feelings
From deep-sea to reef or flats fishing, if you’re looking to hook some fish with your honey, Marathon, Florida is THE place to do it. The turquoise waters are packed with all sorts of fish species: way off shore, you’ll find some wahoo, at the Marathon West Hump, you’ll get up close and personal with gamefish like blackfin tuna and amberjacks, and by the reefs you’ll reel in types like yellowtail and grouper. Of course, if the two of you aren’t necessarily the flyest fishermen around, you can think about chartering a party boat and sailing out for the day with a guide and other couples interested in fishing. What says ‘we’re in this for the long haul’ more than a pic of you and your boo holding one of your most impressive catches. Wear some reflective shades to make the fish photobomb extra Instagrammable…

are you for snorkel? sign us up!
Haven’t you heard, some of the best snorkeling can be found in Marathon (Vaca Key)! One of the best ways to get comfortable in a new relationship is by throwing yourselves into the water and seeing if you can swim (in more ways than one!!) No, but really, a great way to bond with your new boyfriend or girlfriend is by slapping on a snorkel, some fins and a neoprene suit and exploring everything undersea. Holding hands while you’re wading through the water can’t hurt either… Take a boat out to snorkel Coffins Patch or see the Sombrero Reef. The reef is teeming with cool topography to explore and so many fish and corals to check out.

If you’re a considerably sporty couple, don’t miss a second to put your pole to use ((hey, we’re not getting dirty here)), but also take in all that Faro Blanco has to offer. If you’re staying on land, have a casual day of play with lawn games from Jenga to croquet and cornhole, if you’re heading out to sea, get synced with a Captain at the marina and plan out your day on deck - whether you’ll go for a full 8 hours or cap it off at the half (4 hours) .

take a sunset cruise to unwind
We said a Florida Keys vacay would be restful and relaxing, right? Well, once you’ve finished out your day, take a sunset cruise to set the mood and activate your chill. Faro Blanco offers at-dusk activities right from the property. Whether you want to procure a private charter ((maybe you have an all-important question to ask… hmmm)) or book a sunset cruise, you can set sail with your special someone in total style.

Wherever your adventures take you during the day, you can be sure to dock and dine at any of the numerous waterfront restaurants in Marathon. Boasting bayside settings and menus stacked with delicious snacks, seafood creations and local favorites, Keys dining digs are fabulous for solo date nights with your travel companion. Alternately, if you’re making your trip to Marathon a sojourn with your squad, there are a ton of happy hour haunts to sample some apps and sips over seaside views.
