In other words, yes, cake is so good it can be eaten any time of day – but, it also has to be something pretty to look at too. Points are lost with us when artistry isn’t considered. C’mon, it’s a wedding people – aesthetic is everything. Whether it’s a single tier show-stopper with attitude to make up for the altitude, a beyond-basic white cake that puts every other ivory iteration to shame (check out these black wedding cakes, for instance), a colorful confection that’s as whimsy as it’s Instagrammable or a couture creation with floral applique or exquisite embellishments that literally take your breath away, it’s all about that look.
