A rainbow of pastels against a neutral backdrop at Natirar Mansion

whimsical rainbow floral arch

Maggie wasn't a bride who had grown up dreaming about every last detail of her wedding, so when it came to thinking about the details of the day, she felt like she was at literally starting at square one! That's when their venue, The Mansion at Natirar, came into play. Natirar is a statement venue in and of itself, and brides can take this space in any direction due to its natural grandeur. Maggie saw the venue as a neutral blank slate that she could bring a funky, whimsical vibe to for her "I do's" with groom, Ty. The setting was the perfect opportunity to blend traditional and modern aspects, as well as the couple's "colorful secret garden" inspo. Saying a surprise "I do" to Pronovias

Like so many other brides, the vision Maggie had in her head of the gown she thought she wanted ended up being very different from the Pronovias gown she ultimately chose from I do... I do... Initially, she wanted romantic appliqué, florals, and some sparkle. For the gown she ultimately chose, she wasn't crazy about it on the rack, but when she put it on, everything from the floral embroidery to the sequined details and the ivory coloring and fit felt perfect for her!

The groomsmen were bold in blue

Because Maggie knew she wanted bright florals, she knew she had to take that into account in planning her wedding party's look. Show Me Your Mumu has the variety of dresses that fit her casual-but-elevated vibe for the bridesmaids, especially the "Show Me the Ring" color. The groomsmen wore bold blue suits custom made by Indochino.

Bold colors against a natural backdrop

The florals were ultimately what brought everything about this wedding day to life. Bride Maggie told Twisted Willow Flowers very early on in the process that she wanted bold colors — mostly oranges, purples, pinks, and blues — and little-to-no greenery involved in the arrangements. With the amazing natural backdrop of Natirar’s backyard, she wanted a wildly colorful and bold flower arch that would stand out against, but not take away from, the stunning view.

Place cards that practically float

Maggie's love of colorful florals translated onto their semi-custom invitation suite by Aerialist Press. That suite eventually inspired the day-of pieces as well, including an escort card display that was a spin on a traditional seating chart. The display was meant to act as a centerpiece of the cocktail hour, with a bold floral arrangement in the middle and half-moon escort cards placed in and on acrylic stands to look like they were floating! Citrus was nestled throughout the centerpieces and arrangements, not only to enhance the fresh summer vibe, but also because recurring circular elements were incorporated throughout the day-of stationery and design elements, as well. Pink, orange, and twisted white tapers accented each centerpiece to create a soft, romantic atmosphere.

Before the party, it's all about good food

High-quality, delicious food and drinks were a number one priority for this couple. Natirar’s reputation for creative and amazing cuisine is impeccable, and the couple and their guests were not disappointed! Cocktail hour included wagyu dumplings, mini lobster rolls, sliders, and a street taco bar. Their entrees included salmon paired with a champagne caviar sauce. For their custom cocktails, Maggie and Ty created a strawberry cocktail (hers) and a blueberry cocktail (his). At the end of the night, the couple broke out some fun custom cups for guests to drink out of and take home as a reuseable favor.

A rave review from the bride

"My vendors and especially my planner, Taylor Larson of Hill Event Co., truly made my vision come to life and allowed my husband Ty and I to live in the moment and soak up every minute of our wedding day, which was the best gift we could have received that day! I couldn’t have done it without them."
