If there’s one thing the internet loves, it’s a dating app success story—and Hannah and Philip’s love story is one for the modern romance hall of fame. The two met on Hinge in the thick of 2020, and what started as a “big walk around the neighborhood” turned into an all-day date, a mutual crush, and eventually, proof that even in uncertain times, the right connection finds its way through. Fast forward to their wedding day at San Francisco’s historic Flood Mansion captured by Laura and Stella Kudritzki, where – with the help of Hand and Heart Weddings – Hannah and Philip flipped tradition on its head with a celebration they lovingly describe as “a rager at Grandma’s house.”

Experience-driven design
What made the day truly unforgettable was the experience-driven design. From a welcome baseball game at Oracle Park to a rehearsal dinner at their favorite neighborhood haunt, the couple curated a wedding weekend that gave guests—many traveling from across the country—a true taste of San Francisco magic.

Dress code: creative cocktail
Fashion played a starring role. Guests were encouraged to embrace creative cocktail attire, leaning into color and individuality—a trend we’re seeing everywhere right now.

Custom suiting & the Clairette
Philip stunned in a custom burnt sienna double-breasted linen suit, while Hannah wore Lela Rose’s ethereal Clairette gown before slipping into a chic Reformation second look for dancing and late-night adventures. Beauty was soft yet editorial, letting personality shine through every look.

The ceremony: bold | playful | colorful
Instead of leaning into the mansion’s regal, old-world elegance, they infused the space with bold color, playful patterns, and eclectic textures that felt deeply personal and joyfully unexpected.

Whimsical detail: colorful ribbons
Guests waved colorful ribbons as the couple exited down the aisle of the ceremony.

On trend: fruit & florals
Guests were served drinks over a bar with overflowing, whimsical floral arrangements by Marigold heaped with colorful fruits and complemented by custom monogrammed peach napkins.

Reception design: “Joyfully unexpected”
For the reception, this same inspiration came through in sculptural centerpieces bursting with fruit and whimsical blooms, layered linens from BBJ La Tavola, and vintage-inspired details woven throughout the day.

Advice straight from the couple
“Focus on how you want your people to feel. When joy, care, and hospitality lead the way, the rest falls beautifully into place.”

Personality-forward second bar
A second bar in the space acted as a nod to the couple’s personality with custom drinks names, a vibrant patterned tablecloth and vintage-inspired fringe lamp.

Work-of-art wedding cakes
Why stop at layering textures through linens, when you can also layer textures through cakes! Colors, textures, and florals came together to create vintage-inspired cakes that were works of art of their own accord.
