Keeping the colors bold at an otherwise minimalistic wedding

bright colorful bouquet

Daniela and Jaime connected through a mutual friend while home from college in the summer of 2013. Later that fall, Daniela invited Jaime to a tailgate at Texas A&M. One visit turned into another and before either one realized it they had started dating. On their first solo vacation, Daniela and Jaime flew out west to San Francisco, California. Anticipating the right moment, Jaime kept the ring at his side the entire trip. An afternoon hike through the California Redwoods led them to a summit overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In the middle of a clearing, with the ocean at their feet, Jaime got down on one knee. Bold colors and dainty details

When it came to the wedding design, Daniela and Jaime focused on weaving their modern minimalist style with the intentional use of color. This easily translated into the wedding party looks which featured bridesmaids in bold colors, intended to complement the florals at the head table, and groomsmen in all black tuxes from The Black Tux. To offset and balance the rich tones, dainty baby's breath bouquets from Unforgettable Floral and white floral boutonnieres completed each look.

Dress goals: Light and airy luxury

In choosing a wedding dress from Lovely Bride Houston, the bride was drawn to light and airy designs inspired by the spring season. This all came together for Daniela in the gown 'Kiss' by Rime Arodaky with details that included butterfly lace sleeves, an embroidered floral bodice, and a classic A-line skirt. Opting for neutral makeup by Bespoken Beauty and loose waves around the face helped deliver Daniela's effortless bridal look.

Calm your nerves with a first look

For Daniela and Jaime, sharing a few laughs and a teary-eyed private first look moment before the ceremony set the tone for the entire day. From then on, they were able to relax and take comfort in each other.

Sunset photos are 100% worth it - always

Sneaking away for sunset photos during the reception turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of the couple's night. Daniela shared that she literally watched in awe as the photographer and videographer, One Fifty Weddings, coordinated between shots, supported closely by the planning team who tended to her bouquet and veil. It was in this specific moment that she knew the months of planning and sourcing vendors was worth every detailed moment.

After the fact advice from the couple

"Make decisions that feel like you. Seek out family, friends, and vendors who support and ultimately believe in your vision. Lastly, try to find moments of joy where you can. Whether that be rehearsing your first dance on a night-in or celebrating with your mom after finding the dress of your dreams, allow yourself to experience these emotions and come back to them when needed."
