It doesn’t take a genius to see that this next couple has some serious chemistry, and we’re not just talking about their jobs. Their destination wedding in Barcelona, Spain won our hearts with it’s geek-chic decor which featured test tube vases and a periodic table seating chart!

Historic venue in Spain
From Bodas de Cuento: Clara & Thibaut are a young couple currently living in Germany. She’s Spanish and he’s from Belgium, but they chose to get married in Spain. We found the perfect venue for them: a farmhouse in Catalunya with a lot of history. An old chapel on the property marks the beginning of this former estate, which historians say could be from the IX or X centuries, although the oldest document ever found is from the year 1002.
When two chemists fall in love
As Clara and Thibaut were both chemists, we designed a seating plan inspired in the periodic table. We called it “periodic table of tables”. There were also other chemistry elements like test tubes, which were used as vases for the beautiful flowers. As you can see in the photos, all the flowers (mainly peonies, dahlias and hydrangeas) were in vibrant tones of pink, orange and green.
aDVICE FROM THE BRIDE
From the bride: I come from Barcelona (were we married) but my husband is Belgian and we live in Germany so it was kind of difficult to plan a wedding in Barcelona from Germany. That’s why we decided to hire a wedding planner and I must say it was the best decision (Here’s another tip for future brides: Hire a wedding planner!!) even through it was kind of expensive, they take care of a lot of stuff for you and they helped us find the perfect place for our wedding that otherwise we would have never ever found since this place is not very well known.
