By the end of Emily and Chris’s Napa Valley wedding, wine country had been replaced by burgers, martinis, pizza boxes, and a very convincing interpretation of a beloved New York institution.
The transformation made perfect sense for a couple whose wedding weekend was designed with Adored Curations around two places they call home. Emily and Chris brought their East Coast family and friends to Napa to celebrate not only their relationship, but the life they have built together in California over the past several years.
Throughout the weekend photographed by Liz Andolina Photography, thoughtful design and highly personal guest experiences brought those worlds together, beginning with an Italian-inspired dinner among the vines and ending with a nostalgic New York after-party.

An Italian-inspired welcome party among the vines
The weekend began at Clos du Val, where Emily and Chris welcomed guests with their interpretation of an Italian dinner party in wine country.

Set among the vines, the evening embraced the relaxed rhythm of long, communal meals. The atmosphere was transportive without feeling overly formal, giving friends and family who had traveled across the country a chance to settle into Napa and spend time together before the wedding day.

A custom gelato cart, Zazzy Machine, added a playful finish to the experience and introduced another important member of the family: the couple’s puppy, Hudson. Personalized in his honor, the cart brought a lighthearted detail into the otherwise elevated setting.

Grapevine green and deep purple reimagined wine country color
For the wedding at Stanly Ranch, Emily and Chris took inspiration directly from Napa Valley without relying on a traditional wine country aesthetic.

Instead, the palette offered a modern, trend-forward interpretation of the landscape. Layered greens by MFlora Design referenced the surrounding grapevines, while rich, deep purples nodded to the color of wine.
The combination grounded the design in its setting while giving the celebration a more contemporary identity.

Whimsical florals appeared to grow around the ceremony
Flowers by MFlora Design became one of the strongest expressions of the wedding’s connection to the landscape.

Along the aisle and around the ceremony altar, florals were arranged to feel organic, airy, and slightly whimsical. Rather than creating rigid floral structures, the design emphasized movement and a sense of natural growth, almost as though the flowers had emerged from the landscape on their own.

That looseness allowed the ceremony to feel carefully designed without losing the relaxed quality of its Napa surroundings.

A statement escort table layered shades of green
The escort card display became a design moment of its own.

A substantial wood statement table provided the foundation, while layers of green expanded the wedding’s primary color story and introduced additional dimension to the space.

Rather than treating escort cards as simply a functional way to direct guests to dinner, the display became another opportunity to reinforce the palette and cohesive event branding seen throughout the day.

Florals and stripes became the wedding’s signature patterns
A strong visual identity connected each part of the celebration through two recurring patterns: florals and stripes.

The motifs appeared across bar decals, custom signage, linens, lounge accents, and paper goods, creating continuity without requiring every element to look identical.

Repeating the patterns across different materials and scales gave the wedding a recognizable visual language. It also allowed more playful pieces to coexist with the refined floral design and wine country setting.

Guests finished the cheesecake themselves
Dessert brought one of Emily and Chris’s favorite treats into the reception in an unexpected way.

A statement cheesecake was positioned near the dance floor, where guests could personalize their slices with fresh fruit. The interactive setup turned dessert into part of the evening’s entertainment rather than something that simply appeared after dinner.

It was playful and uncomplicated, but still visually considered, capturing the couple’s ability to elevate something they genuinely love without making it feel overly precious.
Napa turned into New York for the after-party
As the night progressed, the California wine country aesthetic disappeared and Emily and Chris brought everyone back to their East Coast roots.

Inspired by New York’s iconic J.G. Melon, the after-party transformed into a nostalgic downtown scene personalized for the newlyweds. Custom “E.C. Melons” burgers put Emily and Chris’s spin on the concept, while Hudson made another appearance through branded pizza boxes.

Tray-passed martinis and classic Diet Cokes served in glass bottles completed the late-night menu, bringing the familiar feeling of a New York night out all the way to Napa Valley.
Custom hats completed the J.G. Melon-inspired takeover
The after-party concept extended beyond food and drinks.

Even the bartenders became part of the transformation, wearing custom hats that helped bring the “E.C. Melons” world fully to life. Rather than simply setting out burgers as a late-night snack, Emily and Chris created an immersive environment that felt intentionally separate from the wedding reception that preceded it.
That contrast ultimately captured the entire weekend.

The Italian-inspired welcome party celebrated the leisurely spirit of wine country. The wedding at Stanly Ranch reflected the California landscape through grapevine greens, deep purples, organic florals, and contemporary patterns. Then burgers, martinis, pizza, and Diet Coke brought a little bit of New York back into the picture.
For Emily and Chris, there was no need to choose between East Coast nostalgia and California ease. Their Napa wedding made room for both, celebrating where they came from and the home they have created together.
