the vision: southern elegance

Katie and Patrick traveled from Virginia to Wrightsville Manor in Wilmington, North Carolina, to celebrate their wedding in true black-tie Southern elegance. From the beginning, Katie shared two things she loved most: Black Tie Southern Elegance and bows. With full-planning support from Cherish at Divine Inspirations Weddings, she entrusted the entire creative process to her planner, something she later said was the best decision she made. Leaning into Katie’s love for bows, Cherish designed a celebration that felt personal, classic, and unforgettable. Guests were greeted with a show-stopping floral bow installation suspended over the mantel, instantly signaling that this was Katie and Patrick’s wedding. Thoughtful, stylish, and completely unique. Over the dance floor, a custom floral chandelier in soft blue and white created a romantic focal point for the evening’s celebrations. Cherish made sure there were subtle hints of bows throughout the wedding—from the seating chart to the tables, and on the cake.

a change of plans

The ceremony was set to unfold in the garden with a beautiful arbor and grand entrance, but a sudden pop-up rain shower forced a last-minute pivot. The team transitioned the event indoors, transforming the space into an intimate, heartfelt setting that guests raved about all night. What began as an unexpected challenge became one of the couple’s favorite moments.
the escort display

Mirrored wedding signs had their moment, but now we’ve moved on to mirrored escort displays, and we love. Not only are they cute, but they also serve as an aesthetically pleasing selfie station!

the fashion

Guests arrived in full black-tie attire, with the wedding party in light blue gowns and classic tuxedos—a perfect blend of refinement and Southern charm.

the cake

They leaned into the preppy vibes with a traditional four-tiered wedding cake decorated in white fondant and topped with a big blue bow. The couple also served canolis, cupcakes, creme puffs, and chocolate-covered strawberries.
a sparkler exit

The couple left as sparks flew, making for a fun photo op. And can we just talk about how these cold spark machines make so much more sense than giving your tipsy guests actual fire?!?

words of wisdom from the happy bride

Reflecting on the day, Katie encourages future brides to invest in full-service planning and trust the process fully. For her, allowing her planner creative freedom resulted in a day more beautiful, personal, and memorable than she ever imagined.
