As you will soon see, not only did she succeed, but we think her something old new and something blue wedding was down right awe inspiring. Custom Your Wedding Shoes
I’d always known I wanted to wear blue shoes on my big day but couldn’t find anything off the shelf that had the wow factor I envisaged; so I decided to design my own. I really went for it, incorporating royal blue silk, a hot pink peep toe & a glitter heel. I got the date of our wedding printed inside the shoe as a special extra touch.That’s right Ladies! Practice Makes Perfect
If possible, have a ceremony rehearsal. We didn’t get married in a Church, so I didn’t think it was required. It would have been good to time when my maids needed to walk down the aisle and where everyone needed to be positioned to save any confusion on the day.
We spent hours choosing the music I walked down the aisle too, but only got to hear about 20 seconds of it because we all walked too quickly!
Modern Day Guest Book
Have guests write their names and well wishes on wooden hearts with a sharpie pen, and have them drop it into a wooden frame. Creating a custom guestbook that you can easily hang in your house later to remind you of your special day. How lovely is that?
Steal Worthy Idea
Write guests names on kraft paper. Tie twine around the left and right side of the ladder. Hang your hand-written table placement sheets from tiny clothes pins on the ladder.
Unexpected Reception Dress
I always thought I’d struggle finding ‘The Dress’. I found Lindsay, owner of Angels Carrying Savage Weapons. She was a dream come true. The dress itself was a stunning knee-length 50’s style number, I fell completely head over heels.
A few months before the wedding, at my toile fitting, when I was expecting a white cotton prototype dress to try for size, Lindsay produced my dress, but in the most beautiful French blue & white toile country fabric. It was simply intended for me to try on to check my measurements and then be thrown away, but it fit perfectly. I was in love, and Lindsay asked if I’d like to keep it to wear on the evening of my wedding day.
