Rustic Chic Garden Romance Wedding

Garden wedding

Lots of love + flowers went into planning this outdoor garden romance wedding at the picturesque Stone Oak Ranch in East Texas. This rustic chic day kicked off with a romantic outdoor ceremony, then moved inside for their flower-filled, candle-lit reception.

Mismatched blush bridesmaid dresses and dreamy bouquets are at the top of our fave list, but that’s not all there is to love about this beautiful day! Read about their engagement story below, and check out every last detail of their insanely stylish wedding captured by Krystle Akin in the full gallery.

Their engagement story

From the Bride: It was the week of our 3-year anniversary. Stephen told me to go get my nails done and pick out a new outfit on him as a way to thank me for dating him for 3 years ;) . This really didn't feel suspicious because Stephen is always spoiling me rotten. I asked him what nail color I should get. Between light pink, a typical go to, and mint blue, he suggested I do something different and go with mint blue. I thought "there's no way he's asking me this weekend if he's suggesting blue nails...he's smarter than that." We decided to spend our Friday night dinner celebrating with some friends who were driving in from out of town.

Before dinner, we stopped at a park in Highland Park because I had been requesting we go somewhere to take a cute pic. I only get him to cooperate for pictures every 6 months or so, so he owed me for our anniversary. We blared T-Swift on the way there, nothing felt out of the ordinary. It had been storming that day but the rain passed and out popped this beautiful sunset. I remember noticing how gorgeous the sky was as we strolled down the park's walkway. We had been walking for maybe a minute when Stephen got really quiet. I turned to him and immediately asked what was wrong, he looked so nervous haha! He reached in his jacket and pulled out a mint blue Mrs. box (hence the reason he suggested the mint blue nail color...MEN). Before I knew it he dropped down to one knee, I asked him if he was joking and he responded with my full name (that's when you know it's not a joke). He told me how much he loved me and asked if I would be his wife. I had to make sure he asked my dad for permission first...of course, he had, and I said YES.
