Oh-Em-Glam! We Have Some Serious Second Wedding Envy Right Now

Cute couple celebrating their second wedding

Before my second wedding envy wears off, let me tell you about this beautiful couples romantic second wedding celebration! With their closest family and friends they decided to hold a traditional catholic wedding, a polar opposite of their spontaneous nuptials in Hawaii a year prior, and we must say that was the best decision ever!

Soft shades of blush and two historic venues in Vancouver set the scene for this glam-filled day. Despite a rainy day forecast their garden chic day turned out picture perfect in the end. See this entire day in all its glory in the full gallery here from the talented Melia Lucida

A stunning second wedding

From Melia Lucida Photography: The couple was married legally in Hawaii last year but wanted to have a Catholic wedding so their family and friends could attend. They chose some of the most historic venues in Vancouver: the Holy Rosary Cathedral for their ceremony and the Hycroft Manor for their reception. They were transported to and from by a vintage 1930 Beaufort convertible.

Capture each joyful moment

From the bride: My advice to other brides and grooms is to enjoy the day and not to get caught up in the details. The day goes by so quickly and before you know it its over, so try to just relax and capture each joyful moment. Give yourself ample time to do each step of the day so you don't feel rushed. Spend less on the wedding and make sure you have some funds left over for a honeymoon even if its just a small getaway. After all the planning, activities, family and friends, you will really enjoy some downtime just with each other.

RAINY DAY HICCUP

Our entire wedding was planned outside in the garden. And for the weeks beforehand it was beautiful and sunny. However a few days before our wedding the weather changed and we had showers and sunny breaks multiple times during the day. So after many back and forths, (that morning while we were waiting for my makeup artist who was 3 hours late!) we begrudgingly decided to have it indoors. At 4 pm the sun came out, so the staff (and my bridesmaids!) had to take fully loaded table (cups, saucers, plates flowers etc) back upstairs and we ordered heaters at the last minute to keep guests warm.  The end result was that dinner was also delayed an hour.

Sharing the love

In the end everything worked out, our guests were fed, warm and dry, we had a gorgeous sunset during speeches and one big story to tell. Never the less you can plan until your heart is content, but some things are beyond your control and can throw things off. Try and be flexible and take a breath and go with it. Its only one day and its truly about sharing your love with your friends and family.
