Rustic Garden Party Wedding with Italian Wine & Pearl Ring

Share

Bride and groom holding hands on wedding day stairs

With an outdoor setting, this couple wanted the day to be like a rustic garden party. Lots of greenery, but with wood elements and a nod to wine and Italy. They’ve shared many special moments around wine, including their engagement. The venue has a lot of decor naturally built into the space so they kept the landscape the main focus with other elements to complement the look.

The color palette for the day was inspired by the Echeveria plant and a little pop of purple. So many special moments from this natural garden party wedding were photographed by Ben & Colleen and can all by found in the full gallery.

A Ring Through Generations

There are so many wonderful memories I have from that day, but I knew
going into it that my parents would provide me with some heartfelt ones.
From first look to his toast, my dad basically cried the whole day.
My mom gifted me with a ring that was made from
her wedding ring (she had lost the diamond from it years ago and had
since gotten a new ring). She had a pearl added to the setting – it was
beautiful! It matched perfectly with my dress and the pearl necklace I
was wearing that day, a gift from my grandmother when I was 16.

Always Have A Plan B

I
don’t think I have any regrets! It did rain, and being an outdoor
wedding, we had to change some things around because of the weather
(having the ceremony under a tent rather than in the garden, dinner was
moved indoors rather than being outside, etc.). When you plan an outdoor
wedding, you must have a Plan B (which we did)! Thankfully, the
venue had multiple layout options and we had a great team of people that
day making sure everything went smoothly. The guests never knew the
difference!

Money Saving Ideas

To save some money with the centerpieces, I gathered various sized
bottles and jars for the florals. My parents helped and cut, stained,
and painted the wooden table numbers. For the table assignments, Cathy
of Bloom Floral graciously let me borrow some of her pretty, old window
frames. Since I don’t have the best handwriting, I printed and traced
the names with a paint pen – I was very happy with how it turned out!

Don’t Procrastinate LADIES & GENTS

I am often times a procrastinator (as many of us
are!), and when we chose are date and were going to have an almost 1.5
year engagement, I thought I’d have all the time in the world to
get things done and be ahead of the game. But I still left a lot to the
last minute! So, I wish I had maybe spent a few more weekends prepping
during the engagement and been less stressed the week or two leading up
to the day. Don’t procrastinate! And do ask
for/welcome help from your friends/family.
