Organic Wedding at Mt. Hood Organic Farms Featuring Local Delights

Happy couple embracing amidst flowers on their wedding day

Stephanie and Brandon’s wedding took place at Mt. Hood Organic Farms near Hood River, Oregon. The entire event was filled with local and sustainable elements, making it truly an organic wedding. In fact, six months before the wedding, they leased a small plot of land and began farming it to sell produce at the farmer’s markets in Portland. To see more of their farm and their engagement photos click here.
As their September wedding grew closer, the abundance from their farm continued to grow and the thought of providing some of the produce for their wedding dinner emerged. Their commitment to local agriculture and food shines through in this beautiful Mt. Hood Organic Farms wedding all beautifully captured by FS Photography. You can see so much more in the full gallery here.

Mt. Hood Organic Farms is a unique, secluded, spectacular natural setting for hosting your one or two day weekend wedding retreat. It’s known for some of the most delicious catering around and works almost exclusively with local farmers and growers, so they completely embraced the idea! The result was a meal that held much more significance than simply tasting amazing.
Let your friends and families enjoy the most gorgeous mountain views (Mt Hood, Mt Adams and Mt Rainier) and gardens in the area and relax on the park-like grounds with orchards, fields, ponds, woods, and a lake. Lodging is available for up to six people. Such a fantastic place to celebrate.

Cookies for the cookie-table were brought by the guests, which is apparently a long-standing Pittsburgh tradition, and one guest brought the world famous Voodoo Doughnuts from Portland, Oregon. Featuring donuts like a bacon and maple bar and a donut with vanilla frosting topped with Fruit Loops!

The majority of the produce served at dinner came from the bride and groom’s farm, Good Natured Gardens. The hot-sauce wedding favors as well as the signature cocktail, a cucumber-based concoction with a touch of spice, also came from the farm.
