Weddings, at their core, are celebrations, so we really can’t think of a better theme than popping bottles! Lauren Potter wanted to capture the vibe of a modern wedding but incorporate a few vintage elements that never go out of style. The bride and groom were elegant without being too buttoned up in a blousy champagne satin gown and timeless black suit. And the crisp white lines from the greenhouse frame mixed with the view of the outside made for the perfect fusion of man-made meets Mother Nature.
Photographer, Lauren Potter, was inspired by the charm of Chapel House Estate, specifically their greenhouse. It’s intimate without feeling confined–all the perks of an outdoor wedding without having to worry about the weather! For the florals, Patina and Petal kept things crisp and clean with Calla Lilly and palm arrangements. the styling
Having a real couple was really important for this shoot so I could capture the couple’s real love connection in the photographs. The overall feel of the styled shoot was an intimate wedding with a contemporary vintage flare. The champagne color hints of the dress and the shape/color of the stationery were fitting for the name of the shoot ‘Champagne Towers and Showers’.
tropical florals
When you’re going for a modern look, tropical florals are always the way to go. Their crisp, clean edges and deep vibrant colors add just the right touch to any modern affair.
I felt inspired by the charm of the greenhouse, so it was important to incorporate tropical foliage into the bouquet and arch to match the classic look of the Greenhouse.
the looks
Pretty Please by Katie created a natural and beautiful bridal look with a gorgeous half up half down, adding braids and plaits to showcase the model bride’s long Rapunzel-esque hair. The dress color was champagne with a satin finish and long sleeves for a modern vintage look.
the cake
Despite the ‘plainness’ of the cake design, the white crisp icing was the perfect backdrop to display the vibrant tropical palms, making it a showstopper in front of the illuminated happily ever after sign.
