Monika and Simon first met studying in New York. Simon is an expat, originally from Pay de la Loire in France, while Monika is of Indian descent. For their wedding, they hosted 150 guests from more than 9 countries at the most stunning French castle to celebrate their "I do's" over the course of 4 days, honoring the bride's Indian wedding traditions while also incorporating a nod to the groom's French heritage.

Four days of traditional cultural wedding ceremonies led up to a spectacular reception

All of the religious ceremonies took place at the Château Barthélémy, as well as the secular ceremony. The first henna ceremony (to wish the bride health and prosperity) was followed by a religious ceremony to prepare the couple for their marriage. A colorful pre-wedding celebration with dancing preceded the festive and musical procession. This particular ceremony included an Indian dance improvised by the women of the family in honor of the bride with baskets of offerings to wish her happiness and prosperity in her new home. And before the wedding vows were exchanged, a traditional Indian wedding ceremony sealed their union. The castle was able to accommodate multiple settings for these ceremonies, including the lake for the second day ceremony, a sweet alley of trees for the third day, and a beautiful clearing for the fourth day.

The reception, themed "You, Me, Oui," ended with a fairytale fireworks display

A French-style reception closed the four days of celebrations. The inspiration for the reception tables was to have only white flowers for decor with just a bit of foliage as an accent. The entire party was themed about the concept of, "You, Me, Oui," a sentence that was included in Simon's proposal to Monika. The reception cake - a delicious vanilla sponge cake with fresh raspberries - perfectly complemented the white decor with touches of green, and included a stunning fireworks display as the final touch.
