Happy Days Are Here Again

Happy Days Are Here Again

Twiggy, eat your heart out...this mod shoot is giving us all the glamour of the '60s with a modern edge in the form of an ombré floral tornado! When working vintage elements into your wedding, it is crucial to balance the old with the new. Mid-century mod furniture beautifully complements the fashion–the bride in a mini shift and flouncy veil and the groom in a dashing three-piece brown suit. So keep that champagne flowing and those records playing as you scroll through the rest of this fun inspo shoot.

If they weren't so crystal clear, you'd swear that these photos by Jana Foo Photography were from a bygone era. For this shoot, Urban Elements Design created one of the most unique floral installations we've ever seen! With its vintage interior, The Hoxton Hotel Portland was the perfect venue for this '60s-inspired shoot. A VINTAGE VENUE

Happy Days Are Here Again

It all started with a great venue in Portland’s historic Old Town, in the newly renovated Hoxton Hotel which originally opened in 1907. Our inspiration couple wanted to bring the fun and swanky elements from the '60s and '70s, tying them in with fresh trends to create a romantic and playful ambiance for their family and guests. We chose a soft color palette of dusty rose and mellow yellow to compliment the space and the eras we were combining. Crave Design nailed the look and feel with the paper suite, setting the vibe for our special couple–and making all of us wish we were going to this wedding!

A FASHION THROWBACK

Happy Days Are Here Again

Our bride wanted to be comfy, yet polished in her white shift mini dress, modern elbow-length “poofy” veil, and carried a romantic bouquet of mini calla lilies, cosmos, Craspedia, and monte casino asters. Our groom complimented her look in his slim-fit wedding suit, leaving his collar open and donning a floral pocket square using a mixture of monte casino asters, miniature roses, and other small varieties of flowers and greens.

TAKING DECOR TO NEW HEIGHTS

Happy Days Are Here Again

A custom, yellow ombré baby’s breath tornado was the stunning floral design background for the intimate ceremony before the reception fun began! Kicking off our cocktail hour with a fondue station, using vintage serving ware, made for a unique and one-of-a-kind event. No detail was spared with our tablescape, showcasing varied heights, styles, and textures of lush and romantic floral centerpieces, candles, linens, and glassware. After dinner, you can just imagine the sound of corks popping and vinyl spinning, while everyone finished off the day nibbling from the Ding Dong pyramid. Good vibes only!
