A dreamy Lake Como elopement full of fashion, color, and romance
Alina and George met at a party in London six years ago and have been inseparable ever since! Wanting to rediscover George's Italian roots, the couple took a short trip to Italy a few years ago where they explored the northern lakes. The pair fell madly in love with Lake Como, with its rich colors, elegant venues, and breathtaking mountain views. They instantly knew they wanted to elope there, organizing their destination wedding at Hotel Villa Cipressi where SDG Wedding brought their intimate vision to life!

A sunset palette bride & groom
The bride and groom displayed an excess of fashion, with two gorgeous looks for their wedding day. They began with a colorful pair of outfits that looked like a sunset! Alina wore a stunning light pink gown with delicate shoulder bows and ornate bejeweled details; she paired her look with jewelry by Femminile Singolare. Her perfectly coiffed ponytail and romantic makeup was provided by Io Amo il Mio Parrucchiere. To match her vibrant style, George dressed in a burnt orange suit full of stylish personality!
Alina is of Indian descent, so her choice of light pink wedding gown was an elegant nod to her cultural heritage! This style of dress is perfect for a bride blending cultures on her wedding day.
Plan B means you can come back for an anniversary
Unfortunately the beautiful lake is known for unpredictable weather and Alina & George's original plans were canceled due to inclement conditions. The couple promised to return to Lake Como within the next few years to renew their vows (maybe on an anniversary) and finally take the boat ride they missed out on! By changing their plans, they were able to capture gorgeous photos around the property of Hotel Villa Cipressi with Eros D’Angelo Photography.
It's always a smart idea to hire a professional planner, especially when dealing with unpredictable situations and planning from afar. From the bride's event designer, SDG Wedding:
"Very strong wind did not allow them to carry out the romantic ceremony outside and to go on the long-dreamed-of boat tour, but they experienced the their day between smiles, tears, laughter and strong emotions, enjoying every single moment, without dwelling on what went differently from their expectations."
Italian chic wardrobe change
Stunning Italian design brought the focus to the couple's second outfits of the day! The groom was dressed in a sharp navy tuxedo, while the bride was an ethereal vision in a romantic Sofia Provera gown; her dress was found at local atelier Elena Pignata Bridal. The elegant style of her gown was accented gorgeously by a white floral headband by Cristina Signorina!
Alina's bridal look was completed by a lush, modern bouquet by Lou Flower Designer. We love the unique elements of their florals!
