Nina and Fredrik met while studying in Turku, Finland, where Fredrik was coaching a women’s volleyball team and Nina walked into practice one day, instantly knowing he was the one. What followed was a nearly year-long pursuit. While Nina fell quickly, Fredrik’s love grew steadily, and after ten years of traveling the world, moving countries, and building a life together, they were married in Italy. Deeply inspired by their love for Italy, Nina and Fredrik envisioned a relaxed yet unforgettable city wedding captured by Moko Photography and planned with the help of Lovely Weddings Italy.

Venue with a view: Domus Comeliana
The couple chose Domus Comeliana in Pisa, a hidden garden venue just steps from the Leaning Tower, surrounded by lush greenery and soft white florals.

Unique bridal detail: a bold red lip
Both Nina and Fredrik opted for custom-made looks. Nina wore a sculptural, minimalist gown designed by her close friend, paired with red lips and understated jewelry.

Important detail: the right tailoring
Fredrik chose a tailored navy three-piece suit made in Stockholm. The overall aesthetic was timeless, elegant, and perfectly suited to the Tuscan setting.

Unique backdrop: the leaning tower of pisa
The ceremony took place with the tower in view with lush white floral arrangements by Carla Home Flowers. The bells rang mid-vows, creating an unexpected and magical moment.

Italian-style cocktail hour
Guests enjoyed an Italian-style cocktail hour with live guitar music, followed by a candlelit garden reception filled with heartfelt speeches, laughter, and dancing.

Custom favors that guests want to take home
Tables were named after places the couple had traveled together, and hand-painted wine stoppers served as meaningful favors, a nod to their love of wine and shared experiences.

Advice from the couple
The couple credits their wedding planner, Anne, for bringing their vision to life. Their biggest advice? Hire a local planner when planning abroad and stay flexible. Trusting the venue and the experts made all the difference and allowed them to truly enjoy the day.
