Alexis fell for Evan as soon as she saw him at camp when they were kids. In her words, “I had been head-over-heels for him for 2 years and truly thought that moment would never happen, but he asked me to go on a walk one day and confessed his feelings for me.” That walk turned into many more walks together – including walking down the aisle. The overarching theme for their wedding day was “Golden Hour.” The couple wanted to keep the wedding modern and chic with a consistent black and white design that incorporated warm pops of color. Captured by Kseniya Berson Photography, this wedding at Cescaphe Water Works is the perfect inspo for a classic summer wedding.

Raise a glass to loved ones
While waiting for the couple to enter the reception space, guests enjoyed not just two signature drinks, but three. The bride and groom each had their own signature drink, and they added one more to the list — a margarita to honor the bride’s mom who had passed away. The bride put this drink on the menu so she could enjoy it with her mom’s best friends who helped raise her in honor of her mother.

On trend: a few minutes to yourself
The reception was one huge party, but the most beautiful part were the 5 minutes right before the couple joined their guests in the reception space. Alexis and Evan hired a violinist and string quartet – Alexandr Kislitsyn String Quartet – to come play a song for just the two of them to share a private dance in a separate room before joining the rest of their friends and family to party the night away.

Multicultural reception inspiration
Blending multiple cultures, the couple entered their reception with a traditional zaffa to get the party started and then continued dancing into the night with their friends to a mixture of western wedding music and traditional Greek dances.

Tent lighting: warm and inviting
For the reception, the beautiful black and white tent set up by the water at Cescaphe Water Works Philadelphia was flooded with warm lighting and bright florals, mimicking the popular sunset colors of pinks, yellows and oranges.

Advice from the photographer
“If I would be able to give any couple getting married advice, it would be to make time on your timeline to have a moment that’s just the two of you.”
