A citrusy coastal South Carolina wedding that brought the sunshine

tan suit for groom

Photographer Melissa Grissom captured every little detail this bride and groom's incredible day at Venue 1223. The wedding featured natural, glowing makeup and all-natural up-do's, citrus-inspired cocktails, and custom decorated oyster shells from the ocean right outside the venue given as "favors." Every last detail was as thoughtful as could be!

The bride made a trendy (and budget-friendly!) outfit change before the reception

The bride wore two dresses for this incredible day.  For the ceremony, she wore Madi Lane's new Kinsley gown paired with a classic veil and nude pumps with an acrylic heel. For the reception, the bride changed into a shorter, funkier dress by Innocentia with a ruffle detail.  The local bridal boutique, Camellia Bridal, provided both looks -- affordable options for the everyday bride. Jewelry was created by local artisan Kristen Baird, beautifully mixing silver and gold.

The couple wove their citrusy theme through the florals, cocktails, appetizers, and more!

Florist Grace and Thorn created a petite bridal bouquet, inspired by British royalty (and recently seen in Sofia Richie's floral design choices!), using bright, seasonal, hand-tied flowers. The watermelon poppies, lavender double tulips, heleborus, and David Austin Juliet garden roses were the perfect pick for this bouquet. The color used throughout the florals highlighted that you definitely don't need to settle for only two colors in your floral design, especially when playing with citrus! Against the venue's white walls, the florals were bright, bold, and lush. The citrus theme was woven through the drinks and appetizers, as well, through items including a grapefruit paloma, a lemon ginger fizz, and grapefruit, mozzarella, orange, basil, and prosciutto skewers. Even the cake was citrus-inspired, with artisan sugar flowers as accents.
