A Wedding On The Maryland Shore
This couple’s engagement was a perfectly executed surprise. Chris convinced Melissa to get photos taken together. She spent the day frantically shopping for the perfect outfit; meanwhile, Chris had time to write out his speech and scheme with the photographer. The plan was for the photographer to “leave” to their car to grab a new lens, only to sneak behind the bushes to have the perfect angle to capture Chris and Melissa’s moment. Soon after, family members arrived with champagne for everyone to celebrate. Inspired by the beginning of summer, this wedding on the Maryland shores celebrates in a bright and airy east coast fashion.
The Kent Island Resort
The Kent Island Resort in Maryland offered historical features and a boutique, modern design with a noteworthy modern farmhouse. The ceremony is set on the grassy green lawns outside the farmstead, where a rose-covered arbor overlooks the fields. Playing up a beachy Maryland theme, they created oyster shell name cards for guests to take home as a decoration or a small jewelry dish later. The celebration went late into the night under a rain of confetti.
Wedding Planning Advice From The Couple
“Don’t sweat the small stuff! Spend money in places that will make an impact on you and your guests’ time! For example, we did not upgrade the silverware or table linens, but instead, we spent money on after-party food, extra bartenders, and had an after-party.”
