Wedding Dress
From the bride. For my bridal look, I envisioned classic 60s glamour and simplicity with a unique boho twist, and I can happily say now, I think I got it. I always knew I wanted to get married in a long sleeved dress, even after choosing to get married outside in my hometown in Maryland during August (hot and humid as it gets),
I stuck to my guns— and luckily, I was able to find my dream dress. A long sleeve silhouette, but the sleeves were made of mesh with a super intricate embroidered design, allowing for breathability. I wore my bohemian inspired dress, but with a simple up-do and a lace fingertip veil, to balance out the look and make it a little more traditional and classic.

Love Story
From the bride. Arash and I have never had a complicated relationship. We both had plenty of those in our early 20s, and when we met something just clicked. There was no drama or confusion surrounding “what we were” as a couple. Everything was easy, we just knew it was right and we went with it. Six blissful years later, Arash proposed to me beneath the budding cherry blossoms in our hometown of Washington DC.

Wedding Vision
From the bride. When I first started meeting with vendors for my wedding, I had a hard time giving concise answers about my vision. My visions, in general, have never been super traditional. I am a big fan of a juxtaposition, blending new with old, modern with vintage, and so on.
My husband is Iranian American, and I always knew I wanted to include a traditional Persian ceremony. There are so many beautiful Persian wedding traditions, including a sofreh aghd, a large table adorned with a multitude of lovely items that all have significance and represent a prosperous and loving marriage.
I pictured us beneath the trees in the woods of our hometown where we fell in love, sitting on a bench together before our sofreh, with a vintage rug adorned aisle, under a copper arch made of white and dusty pink roses, eucalyptus and pampas grass, with nostalgic and meaningful music playing- and this is exactly what came to life.
