American Pride Wedding: A Laid-Back Celebration of Love and Service

Bride smiles in truck on her wedding day with cowboy boots

There is something about a hot summer night in the country that just gives you an overwhelming sense of American Pride! So when Samantha and Chris decided to tie the knot they wanted it to be laid back but with a little US flair to celebrate his military service.

A Treasured Moment

My favorite moment of the day was definitely our first look. I had been so nervous for WEEKS and he was just playing it cool. On the day of our wedding the roles changed and he actually got nervous and I was more relaxed knowing that all the decorations were done, the cake was here, etc. Our first look was amazing, and we both shed quite a few tears! I could not have asked for anything more.

Dapper Dudes & Gorgeous Gals

Chris and the groomsman who are in the service wore their dress blues, while the other groomsman wore khaki suites with navy vests. We really wanted a military wedding and it ended up looking sharp!

The girls wore coral dresses with boots. I found a dress I feel in love with, looked at the color scheme on Pinterest. Then I had the girls hem the dresses to above the knee and prayed they turned out like I wanted! And they did!!!

A Country Wedding Affair

The vision for my wedding day was for it to be very country and laid back. I did not want the extra added stress of everything having to be designer, and perfectly made. What would make our day special was by the end of the day we would be married in front of our family and friends.

Stress Free Centerpieces

All of the table runners we made with burlap and lace. Each centerpiece was a piece of wood we cut up, stained, and sat 3 mason jars on. 1 mason jar had navy lace and a floating candle in them, one was coral lace with burlap around it, and the last was either coral/navy ribbon with baby’s breath in them.

Old Glory Cake Table

It wouldn’t be a truly American pride wedding without the stars and strips! Chris and Samantha’s dessert table rivals just about any we have seen! From the cute cupcakes with mini USA toppers to the US flag cake, there is no questioning where this wedding took place.
