Meghan Markle Just Made Brides Everywhere Crush On Metallic

Share

We already can’t wait to see what the Duchess of Sussex wears when she leaves the hospital next month (her sister-in-law always wins on these occasions, I can’t even understand it, I was bed bound for days after having my son), but until then, she’s still surprising us with her epic maternity style. Even though she’s 8 months preggo, Meghan looked absolutely divine today, when she attended an event in honor of her FIL at Buckingham Palace.

Ever so beautiful, Meghan wore a stunning silver and gold metallic brocade day dress, which she paired with a high-neck, cream-colored Crombie coat from Amanda Wakeley. The layering was 👌👌👌, and so tastefully done. Not to hide her burgeoning baby bump, but also not to put it on display at an event for her FIL’s behalf. We’re always so impressed, MM.

While we don’t have fashion credits for the dress as of yet, it’s easy to notice the details that are so amazingly bridal-worthy: the brocade fabrication (such a classy, rich interpretation for a soon-to-be Mrs.), the mixed-metallic potpourri of colors (silver and gold will always be good decisions for brides, outside of their traditional white wear), the shift silhouette (sophisticated, mature, fashionable; this shape pretty much works for any bride, especially for all of her anticipated pre and post wedding events).

Our other loves about her look:
  • Her pink pout and beautifully-bronzed cheeks; nothing on her face overdone

  • Her simple, yet feminine and polished chignon hairdo

  • Her blush-hued accoutrements, including a rose gold clutch and nude suede (always, always sweet on suede) pumps – making her ensemble a great introduction to spring fashion

  • Her modest gold jewelry: gold bar earrings and a simple gold cuff

I’m already trying to think of any occasion in the next few months where I can channel this debut from the Duchess: a have a baptism, my 31st birthday (elevated brunch wear, so we just need to pick an upscale spot), etc. But for brides with a spring season chock full of chic fetes, keep this vibe in your rearview mirror.

Because it’s SO. GOOD.

From engagement parties to bridal luncheons, bachelorette brunches to post-wedding breakfasts, we thought these occasions definitely called for metallic dress inspiration. So, here goes!
