How to Style a Laid-Back Spring Wedding in an Orchard

pear orchard wedding at Hood River

To all you spring brides out there, the scenic mountain views and heirloom apple and pear trees make The Orchard Hood River the idyllic setting for this wedding editorial in the great PNW. Kamea Events and Lauryn Kay Photography brought together this shoot with a talented team of vendors to showcase the endless possibilities of a Spring wedding in the Pacific Northwest.

The laid-back reception creates a welcoming vibe with mismatched ceramic place settings and blue linens, while the wedding arbor is organic and dreamy with giant peonies and loose greenery from Molly Ryan Floral. So, so, pretty! Read more about the inspiration below and catch a closer look in the full gallery.

the great Pacific Northwest

From Lauryn Kay Photography: The views surrounding the Columbia River Gorge are highly sought after in the PNW. A new venue, The Orchard Hood River offers dual mountain views (Mt. Adams & Mt. Hood) in addition to relaxing rows upon rows of heirloom apple & pear trees. Such an atmosphere calls for intimate weddings with laid-back receptions filled with love & delicious treats!

This al fresco inspiration wedding shoot is set against the gorgeous natural landscape that Hood River offers. Our ceremony space is simple & tastefully adorned with foraged blooms arranged by Molly Ryan Floral. Our bride is dressed in a Truvelle gown, perfect for a relaxed outdoor wedding, and her hair & makeup by Brittany Blanchard is striking, yet inviting. Her groom keeps it casual with light chinos rolled up, paired with a button down & suspenders. The draped photo booth setup was created with elements from Kingsley Event Supply and Peter Corvallis Productions; its setup is fun and eclectic while still being elegant.

A reception is meant to welcome all who gather. While not every place setting matches identically, we offer what we have for the sake of uniting our guests together. Organically shaped ceramics made by Bean Pole Pottery are placed among platters of goodies from Celilo Catering. This tablescape is meant to be interactive, with each sign of enjoyment making it more genuine & authentic. Items from Kingsley Event Supply & hand-lettered paper goods from Sprig & Fern Studio compliment the overall design dreamed up by Kamea Events.
