Before Morgan ever turned her wedding artwork into a business, she was simply trying to create an invitation suite she couldn’t find anywhere else.
She illustrated Castle Hill, sailboats, the lighthouse, and the couple’s arbor herself, then shared the finished pieces on a new TikTok account. People immediately connected with the artwork. What started as a personal project for her own Newport wedding eventually became Drawn For You Studio, a creative venture inspired by the deeply personal details Morgan and Tyler incorporated throughout their celebration.
Their wedding story, however, had begun years earlier and hundreds of miles south, with two student-athletes at the University of Miami.

Morgan illustrated their wedding from the invitations onward
Art had long been a creative outlet for Morgan, particularly during the pressures of competing as a collegiate golfer. Her wedding became the first time she explored what that creativity could become on a larger scale.
When she couldn’t find an invitation suite that matched what she envisioned, she created one herself. Her illustrations featured meaningful pieces of their Newport setting, including Castle Hill, sailboats, the lighthouse, and their arbor.

Once Morgan shared the artwork online, the response encouraged her to keep creating. Drawn for You Studio grew from there.
The artistic details also expanded beyond stationery as Morgan began looking at each piece of the wedding as another opportunity to tell their story.

Castle Hill gave them the classic Newport setting they wanted
Castle Hill Inn was the first venue Morgan toured, and her reaction was immediate.
The property delivered the classic coastal New England atmosphere she and Tyler loved, with the Rhode Island coastline becoming a natural backdrop for the celebration.

Their July 2 wedding date added another personal connection. It tied their wedding and engagement anniversaries to one of their favorite holidays, making the timing of the weekend feel particularly fitting.

For many of their out-of-town guests, the celebration, photographed by Melissa Stimpson, also became an introduction to Newport. The destination ultimately became as much a part of the guest experience as the wedding itself, with friends and family continuing to talk about the weekend long after it ended.

Barely-there blue set the tone for an elevated coastal wedding

Morgan and Tyler’s wedding aesthetic evolved throughout the planning process with Katie Ryan Events, but the feeling they wanted never changed: elevated, coastal, and timeless.

An initial vision involving brighter blues eventually softened into a barely-there dusty blue layered with whites, greens, and organic textures. Morgan envisioned the understated polish of a luxury coastal restaurant with a Restoration Hardware-inspired sensibility rather than a literal nautical theme.
The restrained palette allowed the Rhode Island setting to become part of the design itself.

Organic florals framed the Rhode Island coastline
The ceremony design by Flowers by Semia embraced the natural textures of the setting rather than competing with them.

Lush, organic florals framed the coastal views while salty air and a soft sea breeze completed an atmosphere that couldn’t have been manufactured through decor alone.

That approach carried the understated quality Morgan and Tyler wanted throughout the day, allowing the architecture, landscape, flowers, and barely-there blue palette to work together without any one element overwhelming the others.

Cocktail hour was designed to feel free-flowing
After the ceremony, the traditional cocktail-hour format gave way to something more relaxed.

Food stations, passed appetizers, and cocktails allowed guests to move freely through the space rather than following a rigid progression. The approach supported the larger vision for the celebration, which prioritized atmosphere and guest experience alongside the visual design.
The reception layout continued that thinking.

They skipped the traditional dance floor layout

Rather than designing the reception around a conventional central dance floor, Morgan and Tyler created an open layout with a central aisle that allowed dancing to happen more organically throughout the space.

Photography was also considered when designing the room. Varying floral heights created dimension across the tables, while an overhead installation introduced another layer of visual interest and symmetry.

The result felt structured without becoming formal or restrictive, maintaining the easy coastal atmosphere that had defined the day from the beginning.

Custom scarf envelopes turned favors into storytelling
Some of the ideas Morgan first developed for her own celebration have since become pieces she creates for other couples through Drawn for You Studio.

Among them are custom scarf envelopes designed to hold not only the scarf itself, but also elements such as a thank-you note, illustrated glossary explaining the artwork, dinner menu, or even the couple’s story.
“I love the idea that something as simple as a wedding favor can become another way of telling guests who you are as a couple,” Morgan shared.

Looking back, she sees those details differently now.
“Those little details weren’t just décor or favors. They helped create the feeling of our entire weekend and made it feel unmistakably personal to us.”

That sentiment captures Morgan and Tyler’s Newport celebration as a whole. The dusty blue palette, organic florals, coastal setting, unconventional reception layout, and hand-drawn artwork were beautiful individually, but their real impact came from how specifically they reflected the couple.

And for Morgan, the wedding didn’t just mark the beginning of a marriage. It unexpectedly opened the door to an entirely new creative chapter, too.
