The Color palette

Say Hello to my favorite shade of blue! With its soft and subtle appeal, dusty blue exudes romance and elegance and all kinds of prettiness. What’s more, it has a really ethereal feel which of course I can’t get enough of. This gorgeous timeless wedding color theme is beyond beautiful and pairs exceptionally well with warm colors. A neutral palette with highlight hints of gold, champagne, bronze and even rose gold can take a dusty blue from innocent to sultry and passionate.

Working With The Season

When planning, I like to think of colors that would work with all seasons! I decided early on that I was striving to show brides an elegant and modern feel with a hint of the classic that would be acceptable for any season. The dusty blue tones accented by gold and wood bring out any season on a timeless level.

The Venue

The shoot took place at a historic museum overlooking the Atlanta skyline - it was the perfect location for the shoot, bringing it full circle, embracing the classic nature of the museum and the modern twist of the city.

The Flowers

The flowers were full and soft with hints of blues. The bridal bouquet was an organic arrangement of garden roses, blue thistle, ranunculus, hyacinth, and dusty miller with classic greenery interspersed. The bouquet was wrapped with a raw linen ribbon in a coordinating blue tone. The boutonniere was made of a single blue thistle and small white garden rose, wrapped in the same raw blue ribbon.  The table centerpiece was similar to the bridal bouquet. It was full and sat in a mercury glass pedestal container.

The Cake

The cake was a vanilla almond stacked cake with buttercream icing made in a blue tone and ribbon pattern all around. The cake was topped with coordinating flowers from the decor such as thistle and greenery.

The Dress

We chose a beautiful custom gown made from soft blue lace. The dress was three separate pieces that could be used for a multitude of events. The base piece was a strapless cocktail dress in an ice blue. We paired this with the full-length tulle skirt and lace cropped jacket in the same color for a full wedding gown look. The ice blue of the tulle and lace played nicely against the city backdrop and the more muted dusty blues of the decor.

The table

The table was anchored by a beautiful centerpiece arrangement of dusty miller, garden roses, blue thistle, ranunculus, and hyacinth in cream and soft peach tones with mixes of blue and greenery added for balance. Along the table was a eucalyptus garland with small mercury glass votives and candles. Six large gold hurricanes were added for height along the table. The table setting was set with gold textured chargers with a mix of antique plates in various blue tones. Modern, gold flatware sat on a raw linen blue napkin. Each setting was topped with a custom menu made out of handmade paper. Along with the place setting, there were blue glass water goblets and stemless champagne glassware. The table itself was a custom farm table set with a raw linen runner and gold chivari chairs. In the front sat a set of bronze lanterns with candles.
